A more interesting story than a stop in the winter. In the summer you can play foot golf, though, which apparently saved the island from being raised for low-income housing. Very friendly dog and good history.
This is definitely worth a visit amazing history attached to the castle.The forest behind the hotel is a magical place with fabulous amount of wildlife and if u can make it the top of the mountains well trust me it's a treat.
The castle was not open for interior tours when we were there- only cafe with lovely courtyard for teas and coffee. Beautiful day. We were able to walk about half the castle exterior.

The cakes and tea at the cafe were truly delicious. The gardens (right outside the cafe) are a great spot to let little ones run around. A great spot for some tea, peace, and tranquility. Highly recommend!
