Ferry journey over to the island on a sunny day, watching seals basking on rocks in the sun-what more could you ask for. The island itself is stunning and lovely to walk around.

Fun ferry ride, saw seals and an eagle on the way to the island. Gardens offer guided or self-guided tours. Large variety of flowers & trees along easy to walk paths and lovely cement garden structures along the way. Several opportunities for bay & ocean views. Nice little cafe with tea & snacks. Also restrooms available.

This island is accessible by a short ferry trip over calm waters. It is a small and walkable island with absolutely stunning gardens. There is a nice little coffee shop too. We didn't tour the house because we didn't want to take that much time. The walks are gorgeous and some of the flora are from different parts of the... More

We had some extra time in West Cork and, as a lover of gardens, decided to visit Garnish Island. The journey takes extra time and money due to the ferry trip over. What a disappointment! The garden could be so much--the potential is there, but it needs some serious work and infusion of capital. The only area worth viewing was... More

The gardens are a joy to behold, When taking a tour of the house the guide was so informative, a really lovely girl. Not to mention the boat trip over, seeing eagles in their nest and lots of seals at close quarters. A wonderful, wonderful morning.

Honest to God we stopped and took this boat ride over to the island which had paths to walk and look at nothing. I mean some plants and some kind and of small little nothing buildings to see I thought to myself who I there right mind would come see this if they knew before beforehand. So this is your... More

We visited the island on a day trip, It wasnt a planned thing but it ended up being one of the most enjoyable days of our holiday. The trip to the island on the boat was fantastic. We even got to see a white tailed sea eagle on the trip back to the mainland. The island is magnificent and is... More
