There are a number of relatively flat short walks in the Woods, which offer a pleasant place for a stroll. Nothing particularly outstanding, just pleasant. Plenty of car parking, probably better suited to locals on a picnic or seeking some exercise than to tourists or...More

Lovely forest, walked a few of the walks, great scenery, no toilets but if you plan ahead it's not an inconvenience. Easy and harder walks

We visited in the late evening and really enjoyed the peace and beauty of this small woodland right beside the town of Glengarrif. The blue pool is very picturesque and the departure point for a ferry to Garnish island.

We stopped all too briefly before dinner, but spent more time than expected, walking up to the waterfall, building stone stacks in the river and skimming stones. Very beautiful and peaceful place.

Stopped to check out the blue pool, and wandered on to the loop walk through the woods to catch a glimpse of the seals. This was a really surprising walk, some of the views that we came across were truly spectacular and so unexpected. Really...More

Yes, Jim's Coffee House and Emporium is just outside the village, on the Bantry Road on the right - great lunches, breakfasts and coffee and cakes. Likewise Mannings Emporium is a few miles further along the road at... More
