Lots to see...English guide leaflet good
Sep. 2019
The different historical changes are explained well. The route around the chateau in the right order could be better sign posted.Lots to see in the rooms...antiques,curios,weapons,kitchen store pots for nut oil.You wander at your own pace and guide leaflet easy and not too wordy.Look out for huge tree growing in main courtyard and when it was planted. The underground crypt on way out used for model and leaflets....in England there would have been avtearoom here but no such luck!

Excellent chateau to visit
Jul. 2019
The layout of the chateau and its contents are highly interesting.

A written guide (in English) means that you can meander at your own speed - fascinating visit and dogs also allowed

Awesome furnished castle
Aug. 2019 • Family
We loved this pretty castle because it was well furnished and told a more complete story of what life was like living here. That’s not to say we don’t like naked castles - they are interesting, too - but these furnishings were meticulously laid out and educational. I loved the kitchens the most. My kids loved the curio room. It was unguided, which we prefer. There was a pamphlet in English that was easy to follow. We had a great time exploring and marveling over the panoramic views of the Dordogne River valley. There’s a bathroom in the castle.

One of the most interesting chateaux of France
Aug. 2019 • Couples
We had an amazing opportunity me and my wife to visit with a friend how knows the story of the chateau like the palm of his hand , that was a big bonus , plus the chateau it self is one of the most interesting Dordogne’s chateaux , it contains the oldest sequoia tree inside à chateau in France , it does have also a majestic Liban cedar few hundreds years old , the view is breathtaking from the terrace it looks out over the Dordogne ,the place is picture perfect.
All the items exposed belongs to the family château nothing was brought from the outside , it reflects the different styles of every eras , from the pottery , the cuisine ustensiles , the magnificent rugs
to the amazing weapons collection.
I highly recommend it

Beautiful Chateau in a beautiful location
Jul. 2019 • Couples
We are lucky enough to be staying a short walk from the Chateau and, after staying at the same location for the past four years, I decided to actually visit the Chateau for the first time. When you buy your ticket, you can receive a pamphlet in English that details the Chateau. As you walk around, you just read the pamphlet at the corresponding number shown on the French equivalent within the venue.
It has beautiful and interesting features. You can imagine that the guards weren't too plentiful to effectively 'guard' the Chateau from attack. As soon as they were being overwhelmed from the outer wall, the guards could effectively continue to defend the Chateau from the inner sanctum.
In UK, we are lucky enough to have the National Trust to ensure the upkeep of our places of interest which, the French don't have the equivalent of, I am informed. BUT, Le Chateau de Fenelon has been lovingly kept and is well worth the visit.
There are no refreshments at the location so bring whatever you may need with you. This is a visit that will be completed in between one and two hours.
The views from the Chateau are worth the trip alone ;-)

An interesting visit
Jun. 2019
We arrived around 11 am and the Chateau closes at 12.30 so we would not have enough time to see all we would like without being rushed. We asked if we could return again in the afternoon without having to pay again. The young man on the gate seemed somewhat surprised by our request but it was not a problem and we returned in the afternoon. We enjoyed our visit, information in English and I particularly liked the kitchens.

Secluded castle in a wonderful setting
Jun. 2019 • Couples
Far from the crowds in other Dordogne attractions, the chateau is beautifully set above the valley. The interior rooms are full of interest.

Best castle interiors in Dordogne!
May 2019 • Friends
I don’t know why this place isn’t on more people’s radars. The outside looks a little bleak, but the interiors here are very well-preserved, and gorgeously decorated. We had decided to come to visit because this castle was used in an old favourite movie of mine, but once we arrived and saw how wonderful it was, we were astounded that the place is not more popular. If you are touring around the chateaux in the Dordogne region, this one is not to be missed!

Pristine
Oct. 2018 • Couples
We have probably visited 150 castles/chateau in Europe and this is the most pristine one we have ever visited. Located in a very serene site with excellent views of the area this Chateau is first class from the beginning till the end. The collections are amazing. Furthermore, whether you are talking about the paths/yards or the interior rooms they are all spotless. We have never seen a site like this so clean/perfect.

Great castle, lots of space to move around
Aug. 2018 • Family
We were recommended to visit by a friend and were blown away. Beautiful setting and incredibly well kept local landmark. Easily navigated and lots to see, where were the crowds?!
Would benefit from a small snack offering.
