Went went to Doolin to have look around but the town was way too busy absolutely no where to park. We went down to the pier to get a ferry to one if the islands but again no where to park. There is a big car park at the pier but it was so full and people everywhere, very busy. Now it was a bank holiday Saturday when we went but I still couldn't believe how busy it was.
It is very beautiful there. But I would recommend to go very early in order to get parking, especially if you plan on getting a ferry to the islands.

Easy place to pass an hour or two just relaxing and watching the world go by.
People diving, surfing and swimming every day as well as the ferries and boats coming and going.

A nice place with beautiful scenery. Lovely place to listen to the ocean while you wait to catch a ferry to the islands offshore and the cliffs of Moher.

Nice small town with beautiful view to Inish Oirr, also ferries are going very often and staff there is very friendly and helpfull. If you coming from long drive they have wc facilities down there and also some snack vans where you can grab nice burger and hot cup of tea.

The wild Atlantic way has stimulated a great increase in traffic along the fabulous coast of the west of Ireland. However in Clare this has meant that the motorist is being screwed for all they are worth, with the only investment being made being in pay-and-display ticket machines. The roads are not much better and there are few if any facilities for the traveller when you get there. Beware, some places charge for parking not on the basis of your car or car size, but on the number of car occupants! What a rip off!

I LOVE Doolin Pier. I've been to Ireland 3 times in the past 2 1/2 years. Out of all of those trips my only repeat stop has been Doolin. The second I arrive in Doolin I head to the pier to sit and watch the ocean.
If you are in Doolin you shouldn't miss it.

We would have missed the spectacular view at Doolin Pier if Brian at the Cois na hAbhann Bed and Breakfast had not recommended it to us. It was the perfect place to view the Cliffs of Moher.

We walked from our b&b in town and easily accessed the beach and views from the pier. We even found a great cruise to view the cliffs while we were there!

Not many places you visit are better in bad weather, but being here in the middle of a gale and high seas made for a great visit. Definitely invigorating to be out in the force of nature.
