Stepping back into Australia's railway past

Another amazing Museum located in Adelaide's Historic Port Adelaide. With its huge collection of locomotives and rollingstock, you could be there for a couple of days.

We spent a few hours at the National Railway Museum in Adelaide a few weeks ago and it was a lot of fun. Carriages you can walk through, the mini-train ride and lots of good train related information in the museum. Neat to see the old cars refurbished and well cared for, also nice to see Thomas the Tank Engine,... More

This is a wonderful museum. Lots of engines and carriages to explore and heaps of hands on exhibits. Train rides for the young and young at heart. The model railway is brilliant. Great family fun for the day.

The Museum has done a great job with set out of displays, signage, train rides and examples of past trains. A great trip down memory lane. Mostly indoors for inclement weather, mini train ride for young and old.

Anything to do with trains and I'm in! So of course I have enjoyed the two visits I have made. Please remember this is run mainly by volunteers, so its not as 'polished' as some museums. But then the entrance fee is not likely to break the bank either. There are static displays of historic and interesting engines and carriages,... More

You don't need to be train lovers - but we are. Great display and easily accessed and kids have a great time. A rich history of rail transport and Australian culture. Recommend to all ages.

A great range of engines and carriages to see, climb into and walk round, not to mention the kids love the mini train ride. The staff are very helpful and knowledgeable. A great morning or afternoon activity.
