About
One of the first true boutique wineries in Niagara with vineyards first planted in 1980. Thirty Bench has hit full stride in the last few years with the focus on small lots of low-yield handcrafted wines. The winery has earned numerous accolades, including Canada's Best Small Winery of the Year 2015 and Winemaker of the Year 2015. Single-block, old-vine Rieslings are the soul of Thirty Bench; equally fine reds and Chardonnays have also emerged since the 2005 vintage. At the winery, enjoy personalized seated tastings with beautiful views of the vineyards and Lake Ontario in the distance. A visit to the rustic winery, or joining their email list, is the best way to access the winery's new and library wines.

    Estate Room with Deb
Speechless - I understand why Thirty Bench won Ontario Winemaker of the Year for 2019. A beautiful venue rested upon the Beamsville Bench that offers a quaint, relaxing atmosphere with stunning scenery. My guests and I had the pleasure of enjoying the Winemaker's Riesling along with the 2015 Cabernet Franc. They accurately portrayed their notes as described by our wine consultant for the day - Deb. She highlighted the important notes and citrus the light bodied riesling offered with every sip. It was so good I had to buy a bottle! Deb's passion for wine especially the Winemaker Riesling showed her outstanding customer service skills. She even explained her perfect food pairing of thai cuisine with the riesling. Thanks for a great service Deb, enjoy some Winemaker's Riesling!

    Excellent Tour Experience!
We enjoyed a beautiful sunny afternoon strolling through the vineyards while sipping on the amazing wines of Thirty Bench. There was not enough snow for snowshoes, but we were able to cover more ground without them and it didn't change the enjoyment of the experience. Our guide, Margaret, was very informative and fun and we learned about the wine and vineyards along the way. We loved the hot bowl of Mushroom Soup that was served with Chardonnay at the end of the tour. I was especially appreciative of the fact that the soup was gluten free - a winery experience is so much nicer when I can enjoy the food that is offered! We will be back for a winery visit again soon!

absolutely wonderful experience from start to finish
Amazing experience, very informative even in terms of explanation for the distinct tasting notes between wines from the Niagara Escarpment wines versus those originating in the Niagara on the Lake area. Love the Boutique format as well. Thanks for taking the time

We usually visit the Niagara region several times a year and when we do, set up our own tour. Todays was our first visit to this winery. For this tour our group was 7 but included only 4 ‘active’ tasters. This was the third of four winery visits that were completed this trip (Kacaba was the only repeat). The facilities were adequate for the purpose but not particularly impressive one way or the other. We did not make a reservation for this tasting visit and we were taken in upon arrival - excellent. Our server for this visit was very good. The tasting was in the form of a wine flight. Options for the flight were very limited. While she was very knowledgeable with respect to each of the varietal options, the options were very limited. Unlike any winery we have visited in the region, this winery had a plan to welcome children – drink boxes, snacks, books. Very thoughtful – very well done. While the children’s program was very good, the wine experience was not. It is unlikely we will return as there are much better options available in the area.

Dropped in mid week to an empty tasting room, in the middle of two days of serious wine touring.

As with all our winery visits, the two of us had specific varietals that we wanted to taste. But you don’t have that option …. For a $25 tasting fee, you get to taste four wines that they choose, including a rose (maybe in May, in anticipation of summer sipping) and a late harvest sweet wine (Vidal??) that neither of us had an interest in.

Now, this is a winery with fabulous single vineyard Riesling…so I did make a small purchase, based on history. But no tasting….

As a side note, the young host was very friendly (and apologetic…), and did offer us an “off the books” taste of their basic red, which we were going to buy anyways.

This winery does have some excellent wines…you just may not get to taste them-:)

What an amazing and memorable day with our lovely and informative host Marg at 30 bench. We were celebrating our friend's bday and we couldn't have been happier with the wine, chocolate and hospitality from Marg. We will be back!

We had a great time, staff very knowledgeable, took the time to explain how the Riesling is made and the differences in them and we were so impressed we bought a membership! Loved the Riesling!

Popped in for a tasting this afternoon. We had never been here before and Deb was absolutely amazing. She greeted us with the most positive energy and we were laughing and smiling for our entire visit! We loved the Pinot Gris and Merlot and we bought those and a bottle of the sparkling Effervescent Riesling just off of her description and recommendation. Truly and unforgettable experience! Thanks Deb!

One of the best wineries in the area, especially for their riesling. Great setup outside to enjoy a tasting or a glass of wine.

The wine is really good, the setting is beautiful and the store has lots of interesting and different things to buy. However, the tarts are THE BEST! I’ll be back for the entire experience ( but especially the tarts)
