We have been celebrating my wife’s birthday here for years. We have always had excellent service with great meals. Not this year. The menus is uninspired and worse, the food was lacking. The corn soup that is a staple was cold and didn’t taste of corn. My schnitzel came from the take down the rays. Completely uninspired and Houston’s a piece of meat with a bit of creamy spaetzle on the side. My wife’s beef dish was three nuggets of beef with five 1/2 fingerling potatoes. We were a group of 9 and there is always someone that wants something simple like a burger that’s was always on the menu in the past, no longer. There was nothing on the menu that reflected the region were are in.

I’m sorry because we love this place but the new chef needs a rethink

Really disappointed.

The service was good and the manager was a delight.

Having read some of the reviews on here I went in with low expectations especially after having a meh experience at another Niagara winery recently. But I was really impressed. The service was top notch; our waitress was really lovely and very attentive. The food was delicious - yes, it is rather pricey but that's wineries for you.

To start we had the charred zucchini and cashew dip - very unusual and different but rather enjoyable. I had the cod and chips which came with all the fixings inc. a half lemon thoughtfully wrapped in white muslin so the seeds don't fall over your meal. I remembered to ask for unsalted chips and they came not only free from salt but extremely tasty.

My vegetarian husband had the pizza margherita which was OK but nothing spectacular. If I had one comment it would be to expand the vegetarian options for mains. Every single main included meat of some kind. The only main he could have picked was the mushroom pasta as they could have served it without the smoked bacon but he doesn't care for mushrooms so that was not an option.

The dessert was outstanding (peanut chocolate pate). I only wish I'd had room to try the creme brulee as well.

The location is beautiful; I went for a little walk after lunch and in addition to the vineyards I saw some free-run chickens and cows as well as vegetable and herb gardens. No live band but the music was really nice. I have zero complaints - which is very unusual for me.

I still pinch myself that I live in this beautiful part of Ontario.

We visited in late September for my mom’s belated birthday. Started off good with waitress getting our drinks and order in quickly- and then things tanked. After we got our food, no check in, no follow up even though I was waving at different staff after not seeing our waitress for over half an hour after we finished our food. Finally I went up to the bar and asked to pay to which I was told he couldn’t cash me out and I’d have to wait for the waitress! No one even acknowledged my mom’s belated birthday and I put it in the Open Table comments. Pass on this one if you have the chance- wine is overpriced and service is awful compared to other places in this area.

We enjoyed trying several wines, and took home aa sparkling chardonnay. The staff here are great! You need an online reservation.

Where to start.....I'm totally torn...and the only thing keeping this place afloat is the chef......
We went to this restaurant/winery on a Saturday and were cuaght off guard. Went in to try some wines and my wife saw they had a cider. she asked to try it and they denied her. Basically if we can't try it we won't by it.....we didn't buy a single bottle there.
After our tasting we sat down for dinner and had a great spot on the patio. Our server was not really interested in engaging or serving us but she cozied up after the meal was done. I was kind of expecting an experience but got schooled on what your staff should be doing differently...
That being said the meal was outstanding! The chef made everything (and i mean everything) bang on! The meal didn't skip a beat and i even asked our waitress to send him out for a compliment but she didn't follow thru with my request. very disappointing as everyone needs some accolades in their job.
In conclusion, if you want to go here only go for dinner, don't expect an experience and bring your wallet. Dinner wasn't cheap, one appy, 1 side, 2 entrees and 2 drinks and it was $200 + tip.

My wife, daughter and I did a 3 day wine excursion in mid August and Red Stone Winery was one of the stops this time around as we hadn't been there before. We try to do our day trips mid week so the wineries are not as busy and you generally get the best reception, service and overall experience. This wasn't the case at Red Stone as it started when we entered the wine shop and were greeted and asked what we were interested in and when I suggested a wine tasting, I was told that a structured tasting is done by appointment only even though we were the only people in the shop but we could have a flight tasting on the outdoor patio if we wanted. We agreed and were seated on a patio by ourselves and tried a pre selected wine flight. We found a couple that we liked the taste of so went back in the wine shop to purchase where we did buy a couple bottles and noticed they also had a sparkling cider which I bought a 6 pack of. Now we are back at home and I have since tried 2 of the sparkling ciders and neither of them have had any sparkle to them. The taste is fine as I like a dry cider but when the can says Sparkling Cider, you expect to get a cider with some bubbles. Maybe they have a different definition of sparkling then I do. Not a winery I would visit again, there are too many more inviting wineries in the Beamsville area with better wines.

Although menu prices were very expensive and not much varieties to pick from I truly can say our waitress and the rest of the ladies were very helpful, courteous and pleasant to talk to and we enjoyed our meal very much...And also looking out at the vineyard was pure tranquility for me.

Good wine but expected lower prices. Almost same prices as sister winery Tawse. For same prices I prefer Tawse who have excellent wines. Felt redstone was more commercial winery than tawse. Prefer the tawse vibe.

Price of charcuterie box on retail patio was 30$. A little bit on highest pricy side for quantity in the box and considering it was a takeout box. Food quality was good. Pricing of 20-25$ would make more sense.

Went for dinner during pandemic when only so many people could attend and not disappointed at all. Amazing service!!! I’d been looking forward to steak tartar for at least a year and it was exceptional! Beautiful location and very well run. Took two bottles of red to go at excellent prices. We will be back!!

While the wine and the food are both incredible - I have to say: the staff are the reason why we keep coming back. Everyone is incredibly attentive, knowledgeable and warm. By far my favourite winery. Get to Redstone. You won't be disappointed.
