We went a curvy but scenic route from Sitia to beach Vai. It cost money to park the car. The sand was soft and nice and the water was calm. It was not so much people on the day we visited the beach and there were plenty of loungers. There was also plenty of space for those who want to... More

Best way to spend one day with nice and colorful water. Like tip: try to go at first hour from the morning to catch 1-2 hours without people. After this the buses start to arrive and the beach is not so quiet, in specially if that buses are full with Russian people. :))

Vai beach is the most beautiful beach I have ever seen. Recommend. Is worth of the drive. Water is clean, on the beach is small sand, also lot of shadow.

We drove to Vai Palm Beach around 8:30 in the morning when staff were preparing for lots of tourists. We didn't have to pay to park, we just walked down onto the beach and enjoyed wading in the sea and taking in the quietness of the morning on the beach. We left around 9:30 just as tourists started to arrive... More

This is the most beautiful beach that I have been to in all of Create. Surrounded by palm trees you can see why they filmed the Bounty advet here. Facilities, excellent changing rooms, toilets, sunbeds water sports, there is also a taverner and a kiosk for refreshments. A must vist if you come to Create.

First time I visited Vai was in 1997 now in 2016 it is spoiled with a big parking lot, shops, and cafeterias and good knows what. Many people, many sunbeds and really not very pleasant. I would not recommend if you live in the Chania area to go the 336 kilometres to Vai if you don’t have other things planned... More

Vai means in greek "palm" , and this wonderful palm beach grew here, it seems from the seeds of dates from the Arab; anyway, this beach is well known, will be nice in spring, perhaps many people in summer.

Beautiful beach surrounded by palm trees. Superb water and vista, sadly it has been overtaken by greed. The 2.5 euro charge for the car park was OK reasonable but charging 9 euros for two sunbeds was excessive. You are then forced to be very cramped and very near other sufferers There is little beach left if you want to do... More

We really enjoyed it. The beach was not crowed, so we could easily find sunbeds and an umbrella (9 euros total). The water is very clean and clear, so it is perfect for snorkeling. There are enough fishes, all sizes. The drive here from Hersonnisos was about 3 hours, if not even more, but it was definitely a nice drive,... More

This is a gem of a beach - it's far enough to the east of the island so that it hasn't become over touristy. Arrived early afternoon, 2.50 Eur to park and there is two cafes on the beach. The beach itself is sand and the water is so, so clear it is great for snoring and scuba. Recommend hiring... More
