The building is actually a research facility, but it does have one large aquarium tank filled with local fish, and a touch tank for the kids. There is also a spectacular view of the water from the conference room.

We walked to the aquarium from our B&B on a beautiful day. The information provided was great - and the staff was very knowledgeable. The touch tanks were well maintained. Good way to spend an hour and learn more about the environment in this part of Alaska.

Docents were very informative and the touch tank was plentiful. Sad the area starfish are dying off rapidly.

Small facility but beautiful displays and really interesting information. The big tank has a lot of really interesting residents and the touch tank was very cool Worth the visit.

An educative and interesting visit to the touch tank. Helpful and friendly staff and a good place to stop by while in Kodiak.

I think calling this an aquarium is a bit of a stretch. It's a large fish tank really with local fish. Interesting but a quick visit. If you are thinking anything like the Monterey Aquarium or Baltimore, forget it. It's small and cute but you will be there 20 minutes top. Worth a visit if you are on Near Island.

Whenever we have people come visit our little island I love to bring them here. It's a great rainy day activity and kids always have fun. It's FREE, fun and educational. One of the little gems of Kodiak.

We enjoyed the touch tank and a aquarium while exploring and learning about Kodiak. Great information about salmon and other sea life in the area.

A great place to take young children to experience some of the creatures of the sea and particularly in Kodiak on those cooler and rainy days.

It was a 30 minute walk over to the facility, but very easy on sidewalks most of the way. The touch tank has a variety of intertidal animals and it's long enough for 10 people to easily fit around the edge. The huge cylinder aquarium tank is right beside the touch tank/table. The walls of the rooms are filled with... More
