CME is a top notch outfitter. I recently returned from a five day trip to the Bute Inlet and cannot say enough good things about the experience. The owners, Ralph, Lannie, Albert & Kate are so welcoming and attentive to your needs as well as the guides Anthony and Liam. They provided delicious, creative and nutritious meals and impressed me with their knowledge of the area, the environment, vegetation and wildlife. It was a fun, challenging experience and I highly recommend them.

There were so many great aspects to this 6-day trip that it is impossible to say which was my favourite. Our guides, Rachel and Liam, were excellent both in knowledge about the area and sea life and in the skills of guiding well. Their experience and confidence helped me to feel safe and willing to take risks to push myself out of my comfort zone. The company's policies about taking care of the environment and doing things right were evident in all aspects of the trip. The days had a nice balance between kayaking, sightseeing, and relaxing, and our hike to the lake for a swim was refreshing indeed. I cannot say enough about the amazing food at the lodge, and I was more than impressed with what was prepared for us on our camping days - way beyond my expectations, for sure! Even though we didn't know anyone else in the group when we signed up for our trip, we couldn't have asked for better travel companions. I would highly recommend this type of adventure for others and this company because you will be well cared for.

just finished a discovery island tour with CME and had a great experience. right from Ralphs boat ride out to cabins ,which we saw whales on our way out , to the hospitality /and food at the cabins /on the tour was all v.good . Our guides Rachel and Anthony did a great job taking care of our safety , planning/using our time on /off the water , preparing us excellent meals. Both guides were v.knowledgeable about the area -covering the wildlife , history .etc. Also pointing out such things as sea cucumbers ,urchins , seals that otherwise we surely would have missed . Planning a kayak trip on west coast of canada -I RECCOMEND COAST MOUNTAIN EXPEDITIONS

Our kayak adventure to Toba Inlet was our second trip with CME, as was the case for several others in our group. It is no wonder that people return to this company with its focus on education and conservancy, and its ability to deliver bucket-list experiences with dedicated guides, amazing food, and quality equipment. The trip began with a boat transfer by Ralph from Quadra to Read Island complete with a historical overview of the Discovery Island area and whale sightings. Once at the island, we met our guides Anthony and Liam who reviewed kayak techniques and safety practices. Accommodation at the lodge for the first and last nights was comfortable with the highlight being Lannie's famous dinners, much being sustainably sourced from her garden. Once on the water in our chosen kayaks, Anthony and Liam guided our 6-day paddle up this spectacular inlet by supplying us with homemade snacks, finding campsites, unloading and loading supplies, and cooking meals with country-based themes. Their knowledge, energy, and good humour played a large part in the camaraderie that developed between our diverse group members. While the physical challenges of the 130-kilometer trip are now behind us, our memories will keep us fueled until next time. Many thanks to the Kellers and the CME staff for enabling access to parts of BC that would otherwise be out of our reach.
