The camp site was clean, large and private. Though not on the water, it was a short portage with our canoe. The river is narrow and just meanders on at its own pace - gorgeous. We also paddled Round Lake - nice but the river is the real draw. We were at site #92 which was beside potable water and near river access... I would stay here again.

I've been camping for years and this is one of my new favorite parks. The sites are nice and large , the grounds are nice, the outhouses , showers and comfort station are very clean and well maintained. There's lots of Marshall's on duty keeping an eye on things. The beach is very large, with lots of picnic tables, there is a playground for the little ones , and large picnic area under some impressive pines overlooking the water. I'd highly recommend this park , especially if you have young kids. Can't wait to come back!

Spent 4 nights here this past weekend with close family and friends. Had an amazing time, plenty of things to do, beach, trails, park, kayaking, etc. Park rangers were very nice here and very reasonable & polite when it came to our "party related noise".

I was concerned about the black flies and mosquitoes here being that it was peak season time. We did feel them around us almost immediately when we stepped out of the car but after spraying ourselves with strong bug spray like Muskol Backcountry Mosquito ... I never had any issues. Still got a few bites here and there but it did not ruin the trip. I do recommend BUG SPRAY for sure.

Fully recommend you try this campground. Great place for all.

Very impressed with this park.
There is one trail well marked with lots detail on the trail (little detail on map).
An AMAZING park for water sports. Round Lake is big enough for boats which don't put any disturbance into the river for non motor crafts. The river is calm enough to paddle and is long. The river lake system connects all the way to Algonquin.
Park staff are all really friendly. They work well to keep park clean to the point of offering us garbage bags. Washrooms are cleaned twice a day and it shows. The The washroom hunts within the camping area have soap and running water.
Plan shower times ahead as there are not many but overall a great park.

The park is small and beautiful. It was very quiet the weekend of our visit (june 21). The bugs were very bad, almost unbearable. The sites are small, but nice and flat. Lots of shaded area.

The area we were in only allowed one vehicle parked on the the site, but the main parking lot wasn't too far away. Bathrooms were kept clean. Showers were nice and spacious however 2 of the 4 stalls were out of order.

The beach is nice. I imagine that it would get very crowded more into the summer. I was really impressed that there was accessible access into the water.

I visit this park often. The Round Lake is very clean. The park is clean and offers lots of activities for the whole family. The nearest town is Killaloe and in the summer you can visit Farmers' Market and Flea Market on Saturdays. My favorite activity at the Bonnechere Park is definitely Wolf Howling with Mike Runtz, one of Canada’s most highly respected naturalists, nature photographers and natural history author on the last Saturday in August. I've been to few of those and it's always an amazing experience!

Just got back from Bonnechere, spent 4 days there. Peaceful, quiet, relaxing. Great time of year to go if you don't mind the very cool nights. Excellent walking trails, very clean park. Will return.

Just got back from 9 days in Bonnechere Provincial Park. The most notable thing about Bonnechere is the very, VERY, sandy beach with shallow water for the little ones. The rope boundary covers a huge area but the water depth is still only to mid chest on an average height adult. The Park Store and Playground are also located at the beach. There are numerous picnic tables and in the playground area, park benches.

The one single drawback to Bonnechere, as far as little kids go, is the new washrooms located on the beach. My 4 1/2 year old grandson could NOT reach the toilet in order to go pee. The seats are way, WAY too high! I had to hold him up (very awkward and I couldn't use my cane to balance because I needed both hands to hold him). Because of this, we chose to run back to our campsite which was very close to the beach. You wouldn't think washrooms on a beach would be geared to adults only.

Prices for wood and ice are very reasonable. The store is well stocked with basics like shampoo, bug spray/lotion, ice cream and popsicles, t-shirts, mugs, bandaids, paper plates, toys and sand toys to name a few.

The canoeing and kayaking is great. There is the Bonnechere River that runs into Round Lake. Saw a lot of kids walking by with fishing gear on their way over to the boat launch area. We were there from August 7 to 16th and the only bugs I saw were a few mosquitoes. However, I understand bugs are more of a problem closer to the river so if you're in that area, be warned.

The only animals seen were chipmunks and red squirrels.

There is only one sanitary station drain/tap but the park is small and when we were leaving, we arrived at the station with no one ahead of us and only one came behind us when we were just finishing up.

All in all, a great place for little kids because of the shallow water and for the whole family because of the compactness of the park, the great sandy beach and a good park store.

The park is big, clean and quite. I went there for the first time this June with 4 of my friends and we had a great time. The water is clean and clear with great fishing. The beach is awesome and the there isn't too many people so u can have some privacy. The sky is nice and dark so you can take nice pictures of the stars. You really feel relaxed when your here. Of and bring a lot of bug spray.

Spent 3 days at Bonnechere Provincial Park. The park is great, there is a small trail, beach, comfort station. I'd highly recommend canoe or kayaking the river, it's a lot of fun. Easy to rent the equipment from the park office.
