This mountain top is reached via a 12km long dirt road that climbs up the step valley sides offering great views. At the top are some open grasslands used for summer grazing and also a few small hotels and restaurants. The day we went it was very misty and raining - but it was still an interesting visit and nice view.

Sal is a nice area and it is normally worth the walk from Pokut.

There is a nice flat plato where one person can enjoy. A nice green meadow wherw goats are eating grass.

The area is full of contradictions.

The locals are quite enjoying the new economy from the tourists while they pretend to be protecting the habitat by not welcoming them.

The Ice-cream man who is selling goat milk ice cream in an ugly electric refrigerator with a big "ice cream" sign on it is rudely asking people to leave the area to goats and keep the habitat alone.

Claiming he owns the goats in the area (becouse there are many signs on the walk path ways showing goat and goat milk ice cream symbols) he is role-playing as a sensitive enviromentalist who is protecting his habitat.

To my experience, absolute nonsense.

I have read other Turkish Reviews complaining the same guy.

If I were you, I would take the advise of the Ice-cream man which is same as mine.

Don't go there. Go to Pokut which is walking distance.

The ice-cream man will be happy to be alone in his rude world and eating his own cream.

Ice-cream man, Devrim, if you read this review feel free to comment.
