We have just walked the wall, ending at this museum. It was a sad end to a great walk. Especially when I read previous reviews and found the bath house has been closed for several years. The cafe was closed, the interactive screens in the...More

I started from there when I decided to walk the length of Hadrian's Wall. Lots of things to do for younger visitors. The museum also had information about what happened after the Romans, ie. mining and shipbuilding. Good souvenir shop. Although it is near the...More

I have visited Newcastle on countless occasions and never knew this place existed. Scratching around for things to do in the local area, I found this place and paid a visit with my 11-year-old son. My son really was not looking forward to it, but...More

All staff pleasant and well prepared for each event. Very informative about the centre and history of the Romans and their impact on England. Cafe available. Clean toiletting areas. Excellent views from the upper viewing area.

This museum could be something - but it isn’t. The ruins are interesting, but need better explanations and more imagination. The exhibits look good but are not much more. As for the viewing tower, either I can’t see as far as anyone else or it’s...More

Hi, No we do not have a confirmed re-opening dates for the bath house at the moment. It is still closed for essential maintenance. Best wishes - Geoff Woodward, Museum Manager.
