Primrose Donkey Sanctuary
Jun. 2019
Primrose Donkey Sanctuary is an AMAZING place to visit!!!! You have the opportunity to learn all about these beautiful creatures and can pet them to your hearts' desire! Admission is by donation but they do such incredible work saving and nurturing the donkey's, that I highly recommend you toss as much as you can into their donation bucket!!!!!!!

This is an amazing place. There are so many donkeys and mules and cats. They are all well cared for and very friendly. Our volunteer guide Dave was so knowledgeable. It was a lovely way to spend some special time with our grandkids.

If you're into donkeys...

A small farm that houses abandoned and/or abused donkeys...no entrance fee but donations are expected. A volunteer will guide you through the history of the farm and care of the donkeys.

afternoon tea and tours, met PrimRose the original donkey
Jun. 2019 • Business
Open Thursday and Sunday, 1-4 and by appointment. Today was a special tea and pie fundraiser with tea leaf readings, tours of the barn and grounds. Lots of friendly, helpful, informed volunteers on hand. Great lemonade. The donkeys are friendly and many enjoy the attention.

Very Educational

They do great things here by bringing in & taking care of those abused or abandoned donkeys. I can tell the donkeys are taken care of very well. The volunteers are very helpful, they told us lots of facts about the donkey, mules and Hinnies. Make sure you come here if you are in Roseneath and you can help the donkeys in so many ways :)

Learn about these loyal and intelligent animals
Jun. 2017 • Family
The owners there family, friends, volunteers and many others who sponsor or adopt show love and continue to support this most worthy of animals. Learn about how they came to be at the sanctuary and feel just a little ashamed that this hard working loving and loyal animal has been treated badly. But they are now loved and rehabilitated by all who have devoted there lives to saving and supporting them. Your find not just Donkeys but Mules, Hinnies Horses but a few cats and a pot belly pig. Meet Primrose herself and all her friends and say hello to Betsy a blind donkey who can tell by the tone of your voice or tha pat of your hand that no more harm will come to her. Learn how most have been abused sometimes in the most cruelest of ways and donate just a small amount so this worthy and necessary sanctuary can continue. Come on a day when there's tea cake and pie and sit listening to music under a large canopy in a beautiful country setting.
