We had a very pleasant day exploring Croft Castle, one of four NT houses were visitors are able to roam through the properties without following a designated route. Friendly volunteers enhanced the experience by sharing many interesting historical facts about the Croft family.

Very interesting trip to this Castle which is steeped in history. There is a lot of explanatory literature in each room which explains various parts of the history of this place and which I, personally, found very interesting.

Interesting property with extensive gardens and parkland. Took the optional guided visit up into the attic areas which provided an alternative insight into the history of the castle. The cellars are also available to visit at other times during the day. Walled gardens particularly attractive.

There is a play area by the tea room with climbing frame etc. They also have play equipment for garden to borrow. I would suggest checking website to see if anything particular on. There are walks in grounds. The Castle is... More
