Spent July 2023 long weekend in the campground. The washrooms and showers basically did not work for the full 4 days we were there. Not sure what people in tents used for a washroom only one outhouse rest of the washrooms are flush and no water. We had the same issues last year July 2022. $48.00 per night for no services at all. Very tall trees trumps left in all the lots so you can drive in but can’t get out after. We had to wait for the people behind us to pack and leave so we could back our trailer up into their spot to get out because of the tall tree stumps. Really too bad about the condition of the camp ground as the lake is a real gem.

Spent a July 1 long weekend camping here. Sites are rustic but offer decent privacy. Bathrooms quickly became filthy and/or out of service very often. It could have just been bad luck

Beautiful beach and plenty of playgrounds. The map showed some interesting hikes but I couldn't coax my small children onto the trails.

Blue Lake is one of the largest Provincials Parks we’ve visited. It has a ton of great amenities, including a sandy & large beach, 2 playgrounds and the even the outhouses flush. The park is very busy and loud. We choose a site closer to the beach (136) and it felt like we pitched our tent in the middle of the highway. No one was adhering to the one way traffic rules and as our road led to the dump fill station it was constant traffic and trailers backing up, to the point where sitting outside was near impossible. People played loud music and ran generators throughout the day (park staff didn’t address any of this excessive noise).
Should we return I would most definitely choose a site in the back of the park, where sites are more private and it seemed a lot quieter; or go with a non- electrical site. Unfortunately, there are more terrible sites and Blue Lake then nice ones so hard to get a good electrical site. Book early.
The highlight of the park is the fantastic beach with tons of trees and picnics tables. There’s a few good hiking trails as well, the boardwalk being fantastic for smaller children or an easy stroll.
There was a boil water advisory while we were there, and no wifi, but good cell reception with Virgin.

Take a kyak or canoe and float along with the lunes. Camping here is great ..alone or with a group, Lots of shade and level spots for a tent. Near by in Vermillion Bay there is a bakery with delicious food and drip coffee. There is also a small fort with more good food on offer. Stop for ribs at the food truck there.

We fell in love with Blue Lake in 2012, but on this trip we were slightly disappointed. Although still a gorgeous spot, with a stunning beach, the young man working was rather unfriendly... greeting us with not even a hello, but a rather abrupt " Do you have a reservation ? " The campground was actually very empty but rather than let us choose a spot, he insisted we stay in one of the sites that are kept "for walk-ins, without reservations" it was rather far away from the beach , had not been groomed and had cigarette butts on the site. Seemed like more weeds around and washrooms & grounds were not as pristine as last time we were there, but still a lovely campground all in all, although we would suggest that this staff member get a few lessons in how to be friendly ! My other comment would be that the firewood they sold us was rather green and burnt very smokey. Drier wood would be nice.

We stayed here in the summer pf 2018, it was nothing short of beautiful, all the sites were treed, they had huuuuuge site with tons of room, near the water, away from the water..The water is another magical experience all on its own, you can see right through to the bottom, the beach went for miles with tons of places to sit, walk, hike, explore.
We will be back without a doubt time after time.

When searching out a tent site, we were looking for something with a little privacy. We chose site 72 because it was close to the beach and seemed that it might have a bush/tree line between the back of the site and the road backing onto the site, which was more attached to the neighbouring campground. However, that tree line was thin and didn’t offer much privacy. On the positive side, it was quite a large site and we were able to situate the picnic table amongst some trees, for a little dinner seclusion. I think being placed between two roads made us feel a bit on display (or maybe it was because our new rooftop tent was drawing more attention than we're used to getting!) After walking around, we discovered that sites 126-128 would probably have suited our preferences more. We ignored them when scanning the map because they are tacked onto what is primarily an RV campground. However, they are also close to the beach and back onto bush; the road along the sites’ front seemed less active than our chosen site.

We only stayed one night and much of our time there was rainy, so we can’t comment on beach or hiking (although the beach looked large and nice). I can say that the usual “vault” toilets near us had been upgraded to foot-flush toilets with sinks and running water! And, the gatehouse sold chips, which entertained us while sitting in the rain.

We stayed here in our travel trailer for three nights. We had a very large and level lot, great for spreading out. We had large, mature trees that offered partial shade for the afternoon sun. We brought two vehicles and parked our van within three campsites. We enjoyed the beautiful, expansive beach and crystal clear water. We brought our kayaks and toured around close to shore. We utilized the Spruce Fen trail as the other, longer trails were closed. We felt safe and comfortable walking and biking through the park. The bathrooms and shower facilities were clean and never had a long wait. We enjoyed our trip so much, we booked again in late August.

If bored with the peace & tranquility, head over to Wilderness Air and charter a sight seeing excursion in a float plane. Unbelievable beauty and pristine wilderness.
