Located just minutes from Perth City, Perth Zoo is a convenient and beautiful way to meet Australia's incredible wildlife.

Ever wanted to immerse yourself in the Aussie outback but have Asia's stunning rainforests and Africa's wild savannah right around the corner? Perth Zoo, with over 1500 animals and some of the most beautiful gardens in Western Australia, is your ultimate day out.

Open every day of the year, Perth Zoo inspires and directs all work to save wildlife. Go for a bushwalk and discover the best of Australia's wildlife including koalas, emus, wallabies, kangaroos and our enormous saltwater crocodile, Simmo. Go for a safari through the African Savannah with rhinoceros, giraffe and lions or delve into the Asian Rainforest and meet elephants, Red Pandas, tigers, otters and a colony of endangered Sumatran Orangutans.

You can explore at your own pace or take advantage of the many Zoo docent volunteers who have a myriad of stories to tell and help unlock some of the hidden secrets of the Zoo.

With at least half a day needed to see the Zoo, we recommend a full day to make your experience the best it possibly can be! The carousel, wagon hire, zebra car rides, keeper presentations, free electric BBQ's, picnic tables and cafe make the experience all the more worth it. For the more adventurous get up close and book a daily Eye to Eye experience - you might feed a giraffe, pat a rock wallaby or meet our quokka!

Unlucky to visit when it was pretty hot(36 degrees) so what animals that were in the Zoo were in the shade. The whole zoo needs some updating and what animals I saw looked pretty bored and not in great condition. I' m not really a zoo person and feel that God's creatures should not be in cages. To be honest... More

This is in Perth South. I took the ferry from Elizabeth Quay Jetty and from there it is a few minutes walk. It costs $29 for an adult. I probably should not have gone on a hot sunny afternoon in February, as most of the animals were having a siesta. Better to go in the morning. However there were enough... More

This is a terrific zoo split into various areas such as Outback, Africa etc. There is also a simply stunning Orang tang enclosure. If you are able to, do try to watch the feeding of the saltwater crocodile, it leaps 6-7 feet out of the water!! There are talks by various keepers about their charges and interactive sessions with some... More

Title says it all. I truly believe people would come more often if the entrance prices were family friendly and if you could get a decent meal there. Food is rubbish and the prices are what they are so they can afford to feed the elephants I think. I paid enough to cover a few elephant meals I'm sure

My kids and I loved visiting this zoo. They have done a great job upgrading the cages. It is soon much better than it was 20 years ago!

A well looked after zoo with a wide variety of animals that are in open enclosures with lots of viewing opportunities. The zoo has lots of free talks and feeding times throughout the year as well as additional activities such as feeding the giraffes and spending time with animals up close such as orangutans and dingoes. Absolutely worth a visit. Sunday is the weekly feeding of the salt water Croc, which is worth the visit alone, and that's before you've even seen a giraffe, Tiger or elephant. Kids will love it in the kangaroo section where they are free to roam (the Roo's) sometimes right across the path you're walking on. I'm here on business (no... More
