Thank goodness for blogs & reviews. Afterwise I'd never have learnt about this natural treasure. I made a last minute trip to Chiang Rai & was looking for things to do. Luckily Phu Chi Fa came onto my radar. My last minute planning meant I spent more than I wanted. I had already paid for my hotel in Chiang Rai... More

Amazing scene from the top of the hill. Definetly worth the visit. People don't speak english, but everyone knows why you are here. Very nice rooms available too in the village. Easy 5 stars.

The scenic spot at the mountain top is all worth the hike. Waited for heaven's eye to wake up at 5 o'clock in a foggy morning. At first it was a golden dawn and turned to a celeste, picturesque sky. The view is super awesome. Start the hike as early as 3:30 with your flashlights with you and be prepared... More

My friend and I rented a car from Chiang Rai town and drove up to Phu Chi Fa at night. The road nearing to Phu Chi Fa was really dark so be careful. We arrived slightly before midnight and stayed at Phu Pli Fa chalet (walk-in). Since our car is not suitable off-road, we opted to take the songthiaw from... More

We took a truck shuttling us up the 3km at about 4:30 am then climbed the 1500m to the top before sunrise. There was about 60-70 people at the top so early is better for a good view. The view was stunning and well worth the early morning. We drove ourselves from Chiang Rai, leaving at about 2:45am giving us... More

Sunrise, together with the sea of fog is spectacular! We reached the carpark at 5am, climbed 760 meters up steep and slippery slope to the viewing point. There are small children who are there to offer as guide up the slope. Fee: as per your wish. Bring your own torch light and hot thermal flask of beverage (to enjoy while... More

Its not an easy place to get to BUT well worth the effort. I went with a driver but hiring a vehicle cant be too hard. The rewards beautiful mountain scenery in northern Thailand overlooking fruit orchards and corn fields. Went in October which is just before the main burning season starts which causes the smog to happen but at... More

This mountain has a surreal view of mountain ridges. The mountains change backdrops of colors as time ticks - early morning, the clouds densely covers the village below and all the valleys exposing the peaks of the nearby mountains, at 8:00 am, the clouds begin to evaporate unveiling the valleys and slowly covering the whole view then it shows the... The road to get there is scenic. You can buy delicious fresh local strawberries all along the road. The view in the morning is beautiful, the air very fresh. it gets really cold at night if you decide to arrive in the evening and wake-up to catch the early morning sea of clouds. You can walk around the view point.... More

We went there during low season (August) and have been lucky to have no rain. Even the hike up to the highest point is steep and quite exhausting, you'll be rewarded with alsolutely stunning panorama views with dramatic cloud formations! A real must see when you're around! Highly recommended!
