Worth a stop
Aug. 2020 • Family
The menhir (Breton for "long rock") is one of the tallest still standing. It's a 3 minutes walk from the parking and well worth the quick stop. The plaque is a bit short on details. But the rock... Wow!

Perseverance pays off

This was not easy to find. I could see it on the map and had read about it online. Just the one sign on road heading out of St. Renan provided any clue / confirmation of being on the trail, after a fair bit of exploring local farm roads. Definitely worth the effort to finally find and see in person this wonderful artifact, set amongst a small copse of trees. Especially magical, as sun was setting just days before the summer equinox. Nice opportunity for reflection and wonder.

It's big and alone.

If you are travelling between Lampaul-Plouarzel and St Rennes, or along that bit of the D5 for any reason, it's well worth a visit to wonder exactly how (and why) they did it.

However, apart from a small car park with a single information board, there's just the stone.

The highest Menhir in France
Apr. 2017 • Friends
Amazing place, menhir with a belly to rub at if you are pregnant. The place is lonely on weekdays. Authentic.

quite nice and big menhir in the middle of nowhere. A little bit hard to find, there is one small sign.
