The Discovery Centre is a world-class ecotourism facility nestled in the heart of the world’s oldest tropical rainforest. As the #1 Attraction in the Daintree it provides a wonderful introduction to this iconic world heritage destination. The spectacular Canopy Tower and Aerial Walkway allow visitors to explore every level of the forest and Audio Guides in 6 languages are a hit with overseas visitors. But it is it’s innovative Carbon Offset Project that is attracting attention! Part of every entry fees goes towards ‘saving the planet’ via its bio-sequestration scheme. The Discovery Centre is sustainable ecotourism at its best!

This is a good place to get some overview -- albeit it is getting a bit dated. For a $32 ticket, the main thing you get is views of the canopy from high up. Otherwise, hard to justify the high entrance fee.

This was our first stop after crossing the river. The centre has some nice walks and some cool snakes. It is worth a look from the canopy Tower as it gives a great view. The dinosaur exhibit was great too. What we could not get past though was that the centre charges $32 to get in. Even with the audio... More

Must visit first if you plan on a self guided driving tour. $28 (cash/card ok) after 10% discount (get coupon from any local info center or Solar Whisper) For what you get it's not too expensive. Love the 23m tall canopy tower and aerial walkways. Self-paced audio guide with booklet offering great info. Lots of good other stuff to see.... More

We made the day trip from Palm Cove to the Centre with the intention of just having an easy, manageable experience (in pregnant and wanted to experience some of FNQ but didn't want it to be too strenuous). The drive up is lovely, the coast line is amazing and when combined with the hills on the other side makes for... More

A fabulous and accessible walk through the rainforest. Watch the video on crocodiles, its fascinating. Try the tasting plate at the end. The best collection of local produce and flavours.

A great place to get an insight into the history of the Daintree Rainforest. Not too big a place but the time spent there is worth it. And the audio tape you can walk around and use has some great information for visitors.

It was pretty good. not cheap. Just information overload. There are a lot of signs to read, then you have an audio guide talking to you. I caught myself not looking around to see the birds and plants. Don't get obsessed with he audio if you have time constraints.

I initially thought the $32 entry fee was high but after seeing the Discovery Center I feel it was worth it. There are 4 self guided trails in the park which features sections of the oldest original rain forest in Daintree. There's lots of good information on the plants, aborigine bush tucker, a canopy tower, and animatronic dinosaurs. I think... More

We thoughly enjoyed the the whole experience , lunch was good, coffee most welcome, and the Canopy Tower was a good work out, and the staff are friendly and helpful. We drove from cairns and the area of the daintree is beautiful, but what you learn in the discovery centre will give a better understanding and open your eyes to more... More

If you have young children this could be the place to go for a sense of the rainforest. But for anyone else there's a much better walk through the forest at Mossman Gorge, where you pay $9 each for the shuttle bus ride to the start of the walk rather than $32 each for this glorified theme park.
