Well worth the 8km detour from the main highway. Sweden's largest waterfall is simply stunning. Visiting in February the waterfall is frozen on the outside but flowing within. It is amazing. The water briefly appears before disappearing below the frozen lake. Well worth the short...More

It’s a 5 minute walk from the car park to the top of the falls. They were half frozen when we saw them but still very striking. We didn’t walk all the way down to the bottom as it was too icy, but it’s worth...More

It is a little drive from the main road but once you have parke£ your car, it is about 5 minutes walk - we walked in the snow and took that much, so on a solid ground it will probably take less. You can approach...More

This is Sweden's largest water fall. It has a cafe and facilities for the summer season in the small car park but they were not open in December. Only a 500 m hike downhill through the snowy forest and there are the beautiful frozen falls...More

One of the largest waterfalls in Sweeden. Compared to the mighty waterfalls in Norway, it is not very impressive. However, it is quite lovely, and easy to hike along the waterfall. Several photo spots, and more or less guaranteed a rainbow on a sunny day....More

Cool place to go to watch nature roar! We packed a picnic and ate by the waterfall, really nice. There is a small 'museum'/shop with lots of souvenirs to buy and also a restaurant. Good parking!

Sweden's largest waterfall, albeit modest when compared to waterfalls in Norway. Close to the waterfall you will find a tourist station that offers both food and coffee. The high humidity makes it possible to find different types of plants that are different for the landscape.Even beautiful...More

This waterfall is quite something, the carpark (the only thing that has a charge) is only a short walk from the top of the waterfall. It has brilliant accessibility & great viewing points. A must see if you are in the area.

This place is a great spot on some many levels. The waterfall is amazing, the grounds & trail system leading up to the waterfall is entertaining, informative and educational, but what I thought was a real surprise is the gift shop and cafe / restaurant...More

Worth a visit any time and the waterfall is ever changing due to seasons. Service is never free but here its reasonable. Café, shop & restaurant openings will be found on website.

We drove from Åre and it was less than an hour. The road is wide but it is snowy so you should be used to the condition.
