Very good to place to get to know the local area history. They have artefacts from pre-historic era and also showcase many archeological findings.

Alta Museum is different from other museum. This is literally walking to history, the most interesting part of the tour is when you go outside the museum and see the rock carving dating from 10,000 years ago. Definitely a must go.

Interesting museum explaining things in a concise way. Stunning views from restaurant and a friendly, welcoming atmosphere. Very accessible for wheelchair users.

Not much to see, poor explanation and not possible to see the rock carving. We didn't like it and really had the feeling of losing our time.

A visit to this Museum is a must for everyone traveling to Alta. The Sami culture is incredibly interesting and at the heart of Norwegian tradition. Also quite interesting the section on the slate rock.
