Built / opened in 1848 by Thomas Moore and it closed 120 years later. It features a restored ticket office but unfortunately the museum closed this year despite the Tyne / Wear Metro trains passing through. It is a fantastic looking Grade II Listed building...More

Shame more people don't visit here, it was very quiet. Good to sit in a bus cabin, see the old station hut. Pleasant visit for a few hours, place to sit and have your picnic.

took my boys here and although its not very big its very informative and has some decent things to have a nose about at shame too many people are too lazy to walk across the bridge and support this place .

A great bit of local history with amazing facilities, every child loves the lifelike bus they can sit in and pretend to drive.

Old railway station trernd into musum old ticket office nothing special about it the shop is the bigist thing in musum no cafe or ways to buy drinks looks and is pontless going

This a a good museum, free entry and friendly staff. The exhibitions are quite interesting and there is a small cafe where you can sit and watch the trains go by. Easy access too, the museum is very close to St. Peter's metro station. Well...More

Great little museum. Free entry, interesting short films, plenty of memorabilia, friendly staff. Next to St Peter's Metro Station. Special efforts have been made to interest children.
