Building itself is all boarded up. Unfortunately the land it stands on was full of broken glass. Appears to be a local hang out. Spent approx 10 mins looking around. Couldn't allow children to run free incase they fell onto the large pieces of broken...More

Driving past saw this castle a decided to have a look. Is a carpark nearby but the castle was closed & we could only walk around the outside. Seems it's open between 10am & 4pm. There is an interesting coat of arms on the back...More

If passing then worth a visit for historical interest but not worth going out of your way to see. Sandwiched amongst housing estates but near a main road.

This is an English Heritage castle but it is not open to the public. The castle is sealed up as it were though there a nice grounds to go around.

Its not at the moment but work starts later this year to renovate the castle and turn it into a educational/visitor centre. I grew up playing in the castle and can't wait until the work is finished to see what its like It... More
