There is a reason this is on CAMRA's heritage list, a stunning original Edwardian interior. But also a great beer pub. Had Lambton's from local Double Maxim brewery on when I visited, plus beers from Anarchy, another north east brewery. Opposite Empire Theatre so great...More

Step back in time. No drink deals/offers just a nice pub for a nice drink. Lovely fires giving comfy heat on a cold wet,wet, wet day in Sunderland.

We only stopped by as it looked like a good old fashioned pub, which it is, beer was great and the menu looked interesting. Had a great meal, which was excellent value
