Kings Landing takes aim at how history is told and pushes the boundaries of open air museums. This 300 acre museum houses over 70,000 artifacts, offers over 40 exhibits, horseback riding, workshops as well as a fully 1st person interpreted village where you can step back in time with a community of costumed characters in 70 historic buildings. From the American Revolution to the turn of the 20th Century, Kings Landing is a collection of stories and events that shaped New Brunswick through settlement, the birth of the great nation of Canada, and to the age of progress.

Each house is furnished from the 1800's; full of antiques. The lumber mill runs by water power and reminds us that boards for early houses were sawed this way. This life was slower, with oil lamps instead of electricity. Children learn first hand about life over a century ago.

What a wonderful Christmas get together we had with family as we sat fireside, with a delicious home made meal, being waited on with a wonderful ambiance, Christmas carols, twinkling Christmas tree....the scene was set for such a memorable magic evening. Thank you!!

Our convention always has an evening away. The organizers of this year's convention chose Fredericton as the city for the convention and King's Landing for our evening away. 100 plus people enjoyed an excellent turkey dinner in a lovely old setting. Too late for a tour we nonetheless were able to walk around and enjoy the premises. a great place... More

remarkably well (re)created ancient town, the guides are really excellent actors, and there plenty of laughing if you act along, as we found out. Apart from this, we loved the way they explained how life was, how things worked (please, see both mills, and the print shop), how people followed the seasons, ... We have a place that's similar in... More

My friend and I had an amazing day visiting with the inhabitants of this village. They were hospitable and gracious. I was impressed with how accurately they portrayed the time period while maintaining humour and personality. The setting was delightful and one felt they had slipped back into another time and era. Take time to enjoy this experience. It is... More

If you've never been to an historical village before, this is the best place to start. It's small compared to many, it's remote and quiet but best of all, it's a full on experience. There are no ropes or barriers to keep you back. If you want to walk up to that dresser mirror as though it's your bedroom, go... More

This place is amazing if you like to step back in time. It will be an all day adventure if you do it justice. There are so many working exhibits to explore, saw mill and a grist mill both run by a water wheel, blacksmith shop, general store, printing press, horse shoeing, school house and many different styles of housing...
