This place is on the outskirts of town. Take the metro (line 4) to Porte de Clingancourt. Get off and head toward the overpass. It might take a min to find it. Usually the people are headed that way. Ignore the vendors that are selling the cheap knock offs. Once you pass under the overpass, just past the first street (intersection of Rue Jean-Henri Fabre and Rue des Rosiers) make a left on Rosiers and get out of the knock off icky stuff. Immediately the road is clear and more relaxing. Make the first right into the “real” flea market and let the shopping begin! All kinds of antiques, linens, furniture... 300+ different vendors. Ask for a brochure that shows the layout and the other places down the street (though this one is my favorite). Marche Biron is okay. More high end gallery type shopping. A little farther down is Marche Paul Bert. A mix of fine shops and smaller places. That being said my wife found a LV trunk and two LV suitcases, in perfect condition, at Mercury Paul Bert. The suitcases from 1970s. The trunk 1890. Of course they weren’t inexpensive but they were a fraction of the prices we have seen. There is a shipping place in the shopping square. (Not inexpensive but...). Hopefully you can find your own treasures! Good luck.

We come here every year, not necessarily to buy, but to poke around and look at all the fascinating wares and things that are at this Marche Vernaison. To get here is a bit tricky--take metro to Porte de Clignancourt and walk towards all the stalls on the periphery selling imitation junk. Keep walking to Marche Dauphine (red and green) building where Les Gastropodes restaurant is. There use the washroom, then cut through to the outside and look for Marche Vernaison.
We had lunch at Chez Lizette at the Marche Vernaison and it was a huge disappointment. I will do a review on the restaurant on their page.
Marche Vernaison is open on Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays. I would not get there too late as many stalls start closing up by 3:30 to 4pm.
Things at Vernaison are not cheap by all means but if you are looking for something from the past, you may just find it there. Great way to spend an afternoon or a morning!

The market was quit big but disappointing because we expected more typical french foods and crafts. Prices were good and we had a very nice breakfast of croissants, best ever

Way more than a flea market it is a city of small shops that are primarly open on the weekend. Easy to get here my Metro and you can spend days and not see everything. I also recomend that you stop in Chez Louisette for lunch or a glass of wine and stay for some fun entertainment.

This market (which we found by searching for "Paris Fleamarket" on Google) was a gem of a find. It had everything from pins and trinkets for one euro, to large furniture for thousands. Beautiful artwork. Interesting antiques. Vintage clothing (especially for women). A huge variety of collectibles. Beautiful artwork, prints, photographs, paintings.
The vendors were very friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere was quiet and calm. No one hustled us. We could browse freely and enjoy ourselves. Most of the vendors spoke English. We bought almost nothing, and enjoyed every minute.
Full disclosure: my wife and I love window shopping, which is good because this market has a lot of wonderful items that we could not take home to the US with us, much less afford to buy and ship home. Nothing was outrageously expensive, but we just didn't budget for collecting and shipping art.
NOTE: While browsing this market, it is easy to forget the noisy, bustling marketplace we had to walk through to get here. That market sells tons of cheap clothes, souvenirs and knockoff electronics. It is worth it, though, to find this quiet corner.

During our last few hours in Paris, and after hiking countless miles around the city, we wanted to take a slower pace. A good friend referred us to the flea markets, and we really enjoyed window shopping. Bonus: the restaurant and live music on the inside was an unexpected find!

When my wife suggested we visit the Marche aux Puces on our last day in France, I had no idea of the magnitude of this flea market. Or I should say, series of flea markets, since it is way more than just one. Walking from the Metro stop, this was the first one we happened upon. And we had an enjoyable hour or so walking through it and investigating all the vendors. We even bought a couple of things - some beer coasters and a fabulous antique post card of St. Chapelle. Sadly, that was all the time we had, since we had to get back to the hotel and then to the airport to fly home. Next time, we will explore some of the Market's other individual flea markets.

Sublime!!! Loved this place. Am saving up for a trip purely to purchase everything I loved. Definitely not a cheap flea market but worth the prices.

We enjoy the Vernaison. Have been there 4 or 5 times over the years when visiting Paris. Eclectic group of vendors with the usual collections of just about anything you can imagine. Although I do notice a trend to higher pricing from a lot of the vendors that we return to. So, I can't say we bought much, but it's an interesting way to spend a few hours. Who knows what you may find. While you are in the area, there are many other Marche worth visiting

Worth visiting if you like antiques, even if you do not intend to buy anything. Larger than Portobello Road in London but (unlike that market) there is a clearer split between high priced top of the range antiques and lower priced vintage items.
At the back of the Marche Vernaison is a cafe where a singer performs Edith Piaf songs.

What percentage of the stands are open on Monday, would you estimate, and what types of items do they sell? Are these high price for bargains at this location?
