I was very excited to visit this museum as I have Sorb ancestors from this region of Germany. The displays were depicted accurately the costumes and lives of Sorb people in Germany. I would highly recommend this is you are visiting Bautzen.

A relatively small, but important museum housing displays and artifacts documenting the culture of the Sorbian people during the last millenium. The Lower and the Upper Sorbs, through an accident of history, became one of the ethnic minorities enclosed within German borders. Struggling to maintain...More

Nice museum if you are interested in history of slavic people in Europe. Srpski muzej offers you a lot of information about ancient serbian tribes and their recent history.

This is a very well laid out and presented museum that allowed us to have a much better understanding of the cultural history and future of the Sorbish race. The displays were detailed and informative and the staff very helpful.

If you are interested in pottery, clothing and other artifacts, the museum has a very nice collection. If you are more interested in the history of the Sorbs, try The House of the Sorbs.

I liked the iPhone-based audio tour in several languages that you can pick and choose based on number. Located in the castle, a great escape from the heat, too.
