After visiting the Fundacion Real Escuela Andaluza Del Arte Ecuestre next door, we decided to stop by the House of Sandeman where you can visit the production of sherry wines (Xeres). There are three different options to choose from, each one involving a sampling of various types of sherry that the house produces. We opted for the tour that offers... More

We chose Sandeman as a result of other TripAdvisor reviews as we wanted a flavour of what the process was all about without having to spend hours. This was just right. Our guide, Alicia, was friendly and certainly informative. We chose the premium tasting (the four vintage sherries) with tapas and it was most enjoyable.

We visited in mid October and I think they may have been weary after a long season. We had a perfectly good and very informative tour from a young Spanish man although the grounds are not as extensive as Fundador or Gonzalez Byass. There was the usual audio visual part explaining the history of the Bodega but there were no... More

We had the €15 tour & wine tasting. The 45 minute tour was very educational and the guide clearly knew her subject well. The 4 sherries included in the tasting were delicious. An excellent way to spend an hour and a half in Jerez.

The tours are wonderful and in quite a few languages. Our English guide was wonderful as she was able to answer all of my questions and also fill in a lot of the gaps of Sherry production. The tour went from history to production and the very serious ageing process of the solera system. The winery itself is a wonder to... More

We had a great guide on our English tour today - just 4 of us on this tour. Lots of detailed information and opinions as an introduction to sherry production and the history of Sandeman. We had the basic tasting at the end, but the extended one also looked worthwhile.

Nice young lady started the tour but her English was so broken we got nothing out of it. Was not a tour of process, just through some old barrels and a couple of rooms with pictures on the wall. You would learn all you needed to know on YouTube. In the tasting room we were treated like unwanted guests, poor... More

My visit was most disappointing. 1. Very nice young lady was our guide but her English was so bad that it was a strain to understand her. 2. Tapas were terrible - don't bother. Bits of cheese and very very chewy and greasy ham. 3. I purchased some postcards in their shop and on being informed they sold stamps, I... More

Having already visited Jerez last year and enjoyed a tour and sherry tasting at Tio Pepe we thought we knew what to expect from House of Sandeman. Choose this Bodegas as it was closer to our hotel but it fell very short of our previous experience! To start with although the tour was in English the guide spoke so fast... More

We have been to see other wine and liquor production facilities and this is a similar tour. The guide did a good job of explaining the entire process, which we found was very interesting, especially as it differs to wine and other alcoholic products. At the end you get a chance to taste 3 different types of sherry. Not my... More
