You must go to visit the Feria de Caballo in Jerez, if only once in your life. It is an opportunity to view the vibrancy and colour of Andalucian life in all its glory. With women looking totally wonderful in their beautiful flamenco dresses and...More

It's the best Feria of Spain, it's all that I have to say. I always go there with my friends, everyone wearing suits and ties of course eheh. The decoration of the places, the soul and passion they live the Feria, etc, it's the best...More

The Feria is the best place to see the real andalucian traditions meeting with the new look of the area. It is very nice to see that people still hold on to their traditions (dresses, dances...)

This is the place for you. I think this is "the" annual social event in the area and it is full of colour and noise but slightly over powering for the innocent kiwi tourist. A must see to experience but a half day was enough...More

You don't have to be a horse lover to enjoy this fantastically atmospheric festival in Jerez. It is the Andalucian version of Ascot. The ladies look fantastic in frothy Flamenco dresses, the gentlemen look handsome in their traditional horse wear. Cowboys, side saddle and carriages...More

Very exciting. We were there for the opening switch on of the lights with thousands of other people, and it is a light display like no other. The atmosphere was amazing, local Spanish people dressed up in Flamenco costumes, the ladies looking spectacular, and many...More

Glad I've been. One of the musts on everybody's list, fantastic singing, tapas and of course the horses. Lots of drinking and fair until the early hours of the morning.

It was pure coincidence that I stayed in Jerez the opening night of the Feria. Like thousands of locals I walked to the fair grounds. People were happy, drinking, eating and dancing Flamenco. Prices for hotels double during this week.

For one week every May, the park is transformed into a lively, welcoming wonderland full of horses, dancing, sherry and lots of fun. The atmosphere is fabulous and the whole event is just spectacular, a unique experience.

The town is worth seeing, the Alcazar and tour of sherry bodega. You can also see the Royal Andalusian Riding School show. But the horse fair is something very special and you should try to come again for that.
Hi Pat - we plan to go to the Feria this May and have booked a hotel about 25 minutes away. Is it possible to park near the Feria or will we need to train/ taxi in? It sounds fantastic.

I looked online until I found details of Ferias in Jerez. You don't need tickets to get into the festival itself but various activities (some horse exhibitions - very few ticketed) may need tickets. Most of the horsey... More
