The Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art Foundation, in Jerez de la Frontera, is famous all over the world for its show called "How the Andalusian Horses Dance", a unique exhibition of horsemanship which both exhibits and summarises the work which the institution has carried out since its establishment.

Although the show "How the Andalusian Horses Dance" may be considered the highest attainment of the School's work, there are other aspects which are regarded as equally, or even more important, for the Institution. Among these, we would like to highlight its role as a social and cultural vehicle for our equestrian heritage, the selection and promotion of horses, the training of Haute Ecole riders, the preservation and promotion of Classical and Country Dressage (Doma Vaquera), maintaining the prestige of our horsemanship, the breed of our Spanish horses, our traditions and culture. Furthermore, the show enables the Royal School to play host for the Province of Cadiz and to act as ambassadors abroad on annual tours to various foreign countries.

In addition to the show, you might enjoy a visit to our training facilities as well as the Museum of Equestrian Art and the Carriage Museum.

Top quality show even for non horse lovers

This show was brilliant! I took our 3 year old daughter and she loved it too. Even as non horse people we found it fascinating.

This is a MUST SEE as it is obvious how much enjoyment both rider and horse are having. The atmosphere is electric as the audience marvel at such delicate movements are being performed both by rider and horse. The arena is of appropriate size that everyone can see all the horses at any time. The guides are helpful and it... More

The horse show was fantastic, but if you are really into horses you will need to buy additional tickets to visit the two museums. We paid the basic ticket price for the show and had very good seats at one end of the arena. The horsemanship was amazing. Check the opening and closing times if you want to have the... More

We visited on a training day. I was expecting excellent horse riding, harmonenous and beautiful horse-rider pairs showing off their skills. But I got to see the opposite - hyperflexion and harsh riding of the horses. It was sad to see how the horses are not viewed as an animal with feelings and personality, but rather as an object of... Definitely worth a once in a lifetime visit. You must book the show in advance. They sell out. There must have been over 1000 people in the audience. No photos allowed. Horses really well cared for.

We had a fantasic visit here & were really impressed with the facilities & grounds. The show was great too, showing an incredible set of beautifully trained horses (none of which seemed at all unhappy during the performance), but the first 30 minutes was almost ruined by people coming in late & milling about in front of us, and then... Interesting side tour. Would have been better had we known when the performances were, we missed it, but we got to see the training of the horses (6-8 horses inside the training ring, doing tricks) on most days from 10-13:00. Normally on Thursdays, depending on season, 3 times a week. We got a private tour of the stables (part of... More

While i found their show to be interesting, showing how hard it is to dressage the horses, my hubby got bored after half an hour and all he could see was how horses are suffering through the dressage. I agree we are not from the culture where horsemanship is known and respected, i noticed that local visitors had another attitude... More
