This is a superb Park and open spaces to take a walk, the Acueducto is stunning and interesting, a must-see when in Merida.

Impressive but not in the same way as the aquaduct at Segovia We viewed it from the small city centre tourist train which tours the main attractions - this may be the best way of seeing the structure..

The area is I fenced, and anyone in the area can walk by and visit. The structure was 3 levels and is in a park, not far from the centre of old Merida. Worth a visit.

The aqueduct is an amazing structure and the engineering behind it is even more impressive. It is situated in a beautiful park. The stinky river adjacent is a draw back!! The walk from the centre of the old town is about 20 minutes and easy.

Quit an amazing structure. Not in the same league as some of the aquaducts in spain but impressive non the less. The surrounding parkland shows it off to good advantage. Great photographic topic.

The sight itself is not that much different if you've been to Segovia, but the site makes it well worth a visit. You can relax on the grass while admiring it and watching the several storks that nest on its top!

Thirty-seven arches (about twenty five meters high) are still standing, made of alternating layers of brick and granite, approx. 21 meters high. The aqueduct was once six kilometers! long; the structure that is still standing is 1/7th of its original size. It crosses the little...More

A real highlight of the trip to Mérida. The aqueduct is quite a site, right in the middle of a large lush park (unusual in some parts of Spain!). It would be great to pack a picnic and sit with a view of this wonder....and...More

We took photo at 2 distinct areas along its length although it may have been the 2 separate aqueducts. One near the Roman Circus and again where you drive in from the Roman Reservoir. Love the Storks' nests.
