We walked the entire span of this bridge (1km) marveling at its construction and beauty. It's nearly impossible to believe that, although has been restored in areas, is still standing and usable today.

Those Romans really knew how to build a bridge- still in daily use after 2000 years. Takes you right to the Alcazaba.

The bridge is quite long, about 700m, and offers nice views of the river Guadiana and the historical building of the Alcazaba. Good for a leisurely stroll.

A promenade along this wonderful survivor from the Roman period through the park and then over its modern counterpart is a must for any visitor to Merida.

Merida's roman bridge is great to have a walk on a sunny day. It also has parks and an island underneath where you can take a walk or just sit for a while and watch people go by.

Located right next to the Alcazama this is a beautiful example of Roman design from around 2000 yrs ago, I think. The walks along the river give great views of the bridge and it's a good excuse to stretch the legs too.

A very long bridge, very Game of Thrones, second only to Córdoba bridge in my view. Well worth the visit.

Happened to be driving through this community while traveling with our two dogs and decided to take them for a walk. We walked along several tree-lined beautifully maintained paseos when we came across this Roman bridge. It took our breath away. It is in magnificent condition and heavily used by pedestrians most of whom were locals out for exercise or... More

No trip to Merida is complete without a visit to this bridge and appreciation of how long it has stood and how it was constructed
