    beautiful location
Quite a drive from Capetown but worth it. The tastings are very good, especially the wine and beer. The restaurants are worth a visit and the views are lovely. A good place to spend an afternoon away fro Capetown

    Charcuterie and wine pairing
On a rainy day we headed to Spice Route. Quick trip to buy chocolate from de Villiers then onto the wine tasting. We went for the tasting with charcuterie selection. Not been a huge fan of Spice Route before, couple of bottles back in the UK which I haven't enjoyed. What a difference. Fantastic. Each wine perfectly paired with the most amazing dried meats. Definitely a place to go back to time after time.

    Spice up your life!
And all in one package deal of a destination! Wine tasting, gin, chocolate, pizza & fun for the whole gang ....Spice Route has it all. Thank you to Sune & her team for an unforgettable experience here. The wine was fantastic & the charcuterie board was a great addition. Duane from the distillery was a ball of fun :D I also love the kids area which has been an addition to the estate. A very family-friendly place.

Fourth visit here, grand location, lots to see and experience...
Our fourth visit, the first being in 2014 and the previous to this was 2018 and there have been a few changes for sure. The deli has now moved up to the main area, extensive goodies to explore and purchase and a delightful young women to inform us of all the changes. The chocolate Tasting was due to open soon(change of brand), the wine and beer tasting open but we thoroughly enjoyed the tea tasting. This unique experience was unexpected by well conducted by informative staff and from the giant tea wheel we purchased our favourite's. It's a shame the art gallery has gone, restaurants has changed hands but Spice route still remains one of the places to visit and for all the family. Grand views, easy to find, safe and plenty of parking.

An interesting quiet place in a beautiful setting.
We went off season and enjoyed the quiet atmosphere. There are many interesting tastefully decorated shops. Tastings offered of locally made goods, including wine, beer, tea and chocolate. The restaurant's food is good and served either in a cosy comfortable setting inside or outside under huge oak trees. The views are magnificent. The facilities clean and well maintained.

We had a rainy day on our recent trip to Stellenbosch so decided this was a good 'all in one' option for a day out! What a great choice!

In a slightly remote location in Paarl you will find Spice Route Desitination - a number of local producers in one farm to allow an end to end experience or allow a larger group with different interests to all get involved.

We started with the CBC Beer tasting - a choice of either 5 or 7 craft beers to sample with expert insight into the process and taste profiles of each. Really interesting and expertly delivered in a nice bar area inside their working distillery. This includes a gift shop if you want to buy any beers (or ciders if you prefer to beer) and a selection of branded tshirts/hoodies/hats etc.

We then visited Brenda's - a gem of a tea and spices store with so much on offer we just had to buy a number of amazing local teas and fresh spices.

Our next stop was Spice Route Wines where we tried the Wine and Charcuterie pairing - a chance to try 3 white/rose wines and 3 red wines all paired with a different meat to see how the taste changes. All while enjoying an amazing open fire!

Our final stop was Wilderers - the spirits tasting opportunity. There is a wide range of gin's, grappa's, rums and other amazing things to try either as spirits or in longer cocktails and of course the opportunity to buy your favourites in either miniatures or full size bottles.

Spice Route has restaurants on site as well as many other activities we never got round to - a great concept and definitely somewhere we would recommend to others visiting the area!

Lovely shops, excellent restaurants and child friendly. It’s a bit more on the expensive side but it’s a worthwhile experience.

Fabulous place to explore. Amazing shops, tasting rooms for chocolate, beer, and wine. A beautiful setting with lovely little corners for coffee, pizza, Pilates, and places for children to play.
