Big estate, very impressive house (not open to public). Nice planting near house, rest of estate more woodland. Limited refreshments had to go to South Molton for late lunch.

Beautiful grounds with amazing views, not so good for the mobility impaired, the best views are obviously from the higher levels, but the formal and walled gardens lovely nonetheless. Nice little tearoom serving fresh snacks at entrance from carpark.

Walk up to Castle we zig zagged it is worth the walk amazing views! Take a couple of hours over it as we did stopping off at a few weird things en route. Recommend the savoury tea with super watmed cheese scones. Great tea

A great visit. Worth a view. Definitely not suitable for those who can't climb and I feel we saw it at its best in May because of the azealas and rhodadendrons.

Lovely walks up through flower laden woodland paths to the castle on the top of the hill then back down though beautifully laid out trees and shrubs.

Gorgeous place - I visited in September and really enjoyed it despite the garden not being in full bloom. The scenery is fabulous and the walks are really relaxing. The gardens have something for everyone - streams, flowers, castle, majestic house, wondrous trees and gentle...More
