Charming and very pretty old town, dating back to the 15th century, within the fortified castle walls. The village was fortified to protect inhabitants from marauding pirates who were common along this coast. Most of the houses today are either artists studios or exclusive private holiday homes. Typically a visit would involve a stroll up to the top of the... More

There are many shops to please anyone's interest ,and would recommend visiting all if you have the time. Out of the town centre, you will find the older parts with many side streets where life goes on for the local inhabitants. Also of great interest are the older and historically interesting buildings. Well worth a visit. There is also a... More

Although popular with visitors from across the world Tossa de Mar's old town hasn't become trivial and false like many tourist destinations. Wandering through the lanes and up the slopes the original character of this former fishing village manifests its charm

We enjoyed a lovely walk through Vila Vella. Holding hands, making observations, and taking in the love that the surroundings give.

Took the high speed Renfre Train from Barcelona Sants,Station.......a 37min ride. The old town with its narrow cobblestone streets and many churches and museums was very interesting and fascinating.................the whole area was spotlessly clean and had many fine restaurants...........we spent the whole day exploring the area which was most enjoyable A very worthwhile day trip from Barcelona!!
