This is coral that got tectonic impact or something that make such "a lake" in the center of the island is isolated from sea. As the consequence some of animal inside evolute according to environment, such as stingless jellyfish. At this lake, there are 5 kinds of jellyfish. But mostly people only see 2 or 3 of them. To get... More

Jellyfish lake is the highlight and the lake is amazing! Swim with the jellyfish which do not sting for a fee of 25,000 IDR. There is also a lagoon for swimming on the other side of the island - you have to ask operators to get there. It is very isolated and there was nobody there when we went. You... More

I visited kakaban island during my 4 days trip in Derawan paradise. Kakaban island has lake containing stingless jellyfish. There are 2 colors, the brown and transparent one. We can snorkel and swim in the lake with these stingless jellyfish. It's a very pleasant experience to me. We can touch these jellyfish gently.

I was'nt actually expecting to be so mesmerized. Yet there I was swimming with all the many jellyfish around me! My gopro pic resulted awesomeeee...! It must be the highlight of my visit in Derawan Islands. Apart from the beautiful corals. But jellfish colony? Rare occasion!

Yes you can swim with jelly fish, and no worry they are all stingless! In fact they are all really fragile. That's why it's better to swim without fin, since it could hurt them. And never jump to the lake, it could surprise and hurt them. Instead just slowly enter the lake and peacefully swim.

We spent about two hours here just played with Stingless Jellyfish – it was so much fun. The water is not salty as you compare to sea water. We were lucky enough coz not only us swam there and it was November as it wasn’t considered as best time to visit Kakaban Island. How to get here? It’s easy! From... More

About 2 hours by boat from derawan island. You can snorkling in the beach of the island. But the kakaban island is about a lake inside the island that is filled with a lot of jelly fish. You can swim freely with this jelly fish. To go to this lake, from the beach, you have to walk through a pathway... More

At the time our boat getting closer to the island we were really excited, we can see clearly through the water that the island surrounded with wall point. The significant depth of the water created by a vertical wall of beautiful corals. It's clearly a great point to dive in and snorkeling. And our main destination in Kakaban is the... More
