The Lea is a beautiful river that sends it's way through Hertfordshire, my home county. I like it in the Spring, ducks and ducklings, Swans and cygnets and frog spawn and tadpoles.

River and canal walks are often an easy stroll being flat. This area of the Lea can get quite busy close to the town though so watch out for bikes!

The Hertford to Ware/Ware to Hertford river walk is always lovely to do whether in summer or winter. I have done the walk many times since moving to Hertford in September 2016.

We went boating at The Lea Valley boating lake had a great time. Plenty of different boats to choose from. Lots of the river to row along. Well organised.

Lovely walks to be had in both directions on the Lea. Paths are largely pebble/gravel tow paths and are without gradients, making this suitable for all abilities of walkers or cyclists. Pubs and nature are all along the way, regardless of the direction that you...More
