This was a quick 20 minute walk from the closest village, Abrado. Nice walk through the trees, not hard to find the beach. Lots of big rocks, I slipped on one! The black sand is gorgeous. There were many people there hanging out, people playing soccer. The water was cool. Great break and enjoyed the beach.

Beach near the Villa do Abraão. I went to visit this beach the day I arrived on the big island. No more time to take a walk so I went to see the black beach. Beautiful, calm waters, easy access and has a river q finds the beach. It's worth a visit.

This is a good beach to visit, within easy walk from Abrão. Pick up drinks and 'chilled coconut' from the houses on the left, just before you enter the park area where the beach is located (one house will lend you a refrigerated box and ice if you buy 6 drinks).

The only downside is that the beach is not that large, so could become overcrowded. But in that case, it is an interesting walk with some great views.

An amazing place to meet nice travelers and good restaurants and live music. You can stay the whole night at the village and there will be lots of interesting thinks to do.

It was ok to visi the first day which we had already loist all boats leaving for day tours. Dark sand can be seen, almost black, but small place to rest, we got on a rock to lay down.

This was a small beach and I personally found it to cold the day I went to acctually go in the water so hard to review. What I can say is if you have half a day where you have to stay close to the town center to catch a ferry, this would be a good beach to go to before you leave the island as, like it's name says, is very close to the town of Abraão.

As part of a small loop in the north east of the island this beach is about 15min walk from Vila do Abraao. With plenty of sign posts once you enter the walk/national park area it's easy to find. It's a lot more private that the main beach in Vila do Abraao and if you're lucky you might see some common marmoset in the area too. We saw a few people fishing off the shore so you may like to treat hourSelf to some fresh fish for dinner if you're feeling game. Gorgeous blue waters make for a perfect swimming spot with little to no rubbish (unfortunately we saw a bit of rubbish on the shores of Vila do Abraao)

It is close to Enseada do Abraão, about 10 minutes walking from the central square. The water is not so clear for snorkeling, but it is very calm and of mild temperature, excellent for relaxing without having to take long tracks or boats. The name preta (black) comes from the color of the sand, which, people say, has medicinal traits for skin.

mix black and white sand beach. really nothing to write home about, but if you are spending several days on the island, it gives a bit of diversity
