Humbling visit

We visited the New Zealand memorial and tried to imagine how it had been for those fighting there so long ago. It was good to have the information on site of where the different locations and troops of the battle were. A real peaceful setting now and fitting memorial to those brave soldiers.

Must see with any visit to Messines

Great memorial to all those who fought at the Battle of Messines. Has views down the ridge where the NZ soldiers fought their way up to take the town.

New Zealand memorial to those who fell at Battle of Messines

Terrific memorial standing where the German army were situated during the battle of Messines. Three bunkers are still on site. Great view of surrounding countryside. Thought provoking.
