We visited last weekend having travelled from the Vale of Glamorgan. The sign on the gate said OPEN, so in we went. As we walked towards the payment desk we were given a lovely leaflet describing everything we would experience: Step inside the royal apartments it says - we tried to but they were closed; Take an intimate glimpse into... We visited in February when only the ground floor was open for visitors.Never the less this was crammed with beautiful furniture, paintings and many knowledgeable guides who kept us informed of happenings etc during the reign of Queen Victoria. A very worthwhile and interesting visit. The house is set in beautiful well maintained grounds

Very interesting to visit Queen Victoria and Prince Albert family home as seen in films and recent TV series. Durbar room extraordinary. Sorry that as not yet March we couldn't visit the rooms upstairs too (fortunately we're English Heritage members but for those who aren't there wasn't a seasonally discounted price). Was lovely and sunny so could imagine what a... More

Osborne House is the ideal place to have an insight into the UK's greatest monarch Queen Victoria. As Empress of India, Victoria filled her home at Osborne House with many treasures that were gifted to her. 2017 marks the 70th year since the Independence of India, so when you are on the Isle of Wight it is well worth a... We stopped of here for the afternoon prior to catching our ferry home. Lovely place to visit. We still paid full price despite only the ground floor being open. The swiss cottage was closed but we had a lovely walk around the grounds and nice things to see in Osborne House itself. Would like to come back in "peak season"... More

When we arrived it was such a beautiful sunny morning decided to walk down to see Swiss cottage as we had never seen it on our number of visits before but on paying for our tickets costing £33 for the two of us wasn't made aware that the cottage was closed at cash desk only on meeting people just coming... This is a lovely place to visit. There is lots to see in the house itself and beautiful grounds to enjoy. The beach is lovely during the warmer weather. If you have young children there are play areas for them and they will enjoy visiting Swiss Cottage which was built for the children of Victoria and Albert.
