Osborne House is one of the best tourist destinations on the Isle of Wight - it is also a location steeped in history and one of the UK's major heritage homes. The grounds are spectacular enough - stunningly-planned and maintained gardens which you could easily spend several hours admiring. Then comes the house; again beautifully maintained and full of cultural... More

House and gardens are well maintained, you are allowed access to most of the rooms, the children's bedroom is my personal favourite. It's quite a walk down to the cottage and beach but well worth it. There is transport available every 10 minutes or so if your unable to walk the distance. Lovely afternoon tea in the tea rooms but... More

If you love British history, or are a fan of royalty, this place is for you. When we visited we went on a tour inside the house. The guide was dressed in a Victorian style, and was incredibly knowledgeable on both the history of Victoria and Albert as well as the films and television shows based on them therefore I... More

I have watched Shakespeare in a contemporary production in the grounds on a sunny summer's day. I have had the Winter tour of the House, just us two and the guide. I have seen the grounds when sailing past on my boat - quite modest. I have been astonished at how modern was Prince Albert but sad that the kitchen... More

If you are fond of donkeys and like to see them well looked after and content with life, this the place to visit! There isn't an entrance fee, so a donation is requested. Plenty of parking and a lovely cafe and shop are also on site. Great for children and adults. I love going here as it is a calming... More

Over the years we have lived on the Island we visit at least twice a year with friends and family. You are never disappointed there is always something new to learn, and now that the beach is open to the public and you are allowed to take dogs into the grounds there are reasons to go more often. Obviously it... More

Firstly I am wondering if perhaps you have to be a royalist in order to truly enjoy this house. Or an architect perhaps ? And I am neither of these things, so maybe this whole thing is lost on me. Which is why I have given it three points instead of a two. Without going into a massive amount of... More

From the House to the Gardens to the Beach it's a wonderland. You can imagine the Queen and Prince Albert wondering around the place, the house is so homely that you can almost see the children running around, with their laughter echoing off the walls. English Heritage have done a wonderful job of maintaining the whole estate. We were so... More

This was our second visit in as many months to Osborne House. The purpose of our visit was to see the rooms decorated for Christmas. Only ground floor rooms open due to staffing, but still an enjoyable visit. Grounds open for walks.
