Gift shop was a disappointment but okay tour
Self tour of house LM Montgomery got married at. Was a better, calmer place than national park. Buggy tours are done with tractors. Owned by Montgomery relatives so I would love to support. Did they have Anne shirts or Green Gables wear? No. Are you kidding me?!? Did learn some things and a more purist place but I think they lose out.

    Y’a can’t feed a carrot to a John Deer!
Yesterday I took a visitor from Scotland to see the Anne of Green Gables museum. It was informative and a great depiction of Lucy Maud Montgomery’s life. The grounds were great, we took a walk through the whispering Lane and saw the “mysterious “ hanging tree. We went to say hello and offer a carrot to the two gorgeous horses. Then we thought we might finish the tour with a ride in Mathew’s wagon but wait…Mathew’s wagon pulled by a John Deer tractor?? What’s wrong with this picture? I tried to feed it a carrot but…nothing. How disappointing! Bring back the horses. Personally, I prefer the grunt of a horse to that of a John Deer.

    Wonderful Park Day
This heritage park opened in a new format in 2019 is very different than our experience from 25 years ago when everything was crowded into the house. Now it is a very expansive park with an excellent resource pamphlet provided with multiple walking trails. We especially enjoyed the Montgomery Park with a very knowledge able guide explaining the different artifacts.

A must see for Anne of Green Gables fans!
This was my #1 must see attraction for PEI and it did not disappoint!! Prices were fair and the whole family enjoyed the experience. We didn't have a tour guide, but we did the introduction to the property offered by the staff, and there were plenty of staff members around to ask questions if required. Had so much fun learning about the author of Anne of Green Gables, and where she got her influence from. I can see why she loved the Island and why here heart was always there.

$18 for two to do what? Walk through a heritage home where a number of the few rooms there are blocked off, so you can’t even see what each item represents. This was more than disappointing. I’ve wanted to see this heritage site for many many years because of it’s significance to Canadian history, but honestly I enjoyed talking to the horse outside so much more.

It’s less historic than a place to purchase souvenirs that would most likely end up in a garage sale one day.

How else do you explain an entire building dedicated to selling products, and also have a shop inside the museum dedicated to selling more stuff.

Do yourself a favour and just watch a YouTube video, or see more historic features using google search.

This is an absolute tourist trap. Nothing more, nothing less.

Unfortunately, this is a total tourist trap. The museum is interesting, but unless you are a die hard Anne of Green Gables fan, give it a miss. And if you are a huge fan, be prepared to be accosted by the current caretaker. who is extremely overbearing.

Not what we expected, very disappointing.all was going well until an older woman came into the welcome area and her attitude spoilt the whole experience. Another party asked how this site fitted into the Green Gables sites across the area. The woman was very dismissive of anywhere else and claimed that the museum was historic. Actually believe that the Macneill Homestead I. cavendish is far more historic and significant as this is the home and area that inspired Maude to write and also the post office allowed her to send her manuscripts away without fear of pu lox rejection. The museum was spoilt by all the books placed around the rooms. There are much better properties and sites to see that have more significance to L M Montgomery and Anne of Green Gables

Overall, staff was friendly and had great insight into the history of the place. The store had a great variety of things to choose from. Beautiful location and clean bathrooms to put the cherry on top.

Visited museum of anne of green gables - nice, small museum - good place to learn a little bit about story of the author of the book. They have small trails in area - liv's whispering lane and you can also see lake shining from the Anne books.
Entry cost - 7/person
Good stop, not necessary unless you are a big Anne of Green Gables fan.
