Vèscine winery is located on the rolling hills between Siena and Florence and is considered one of the charmest winery all over Italy. The cellar is situated in the basement of Castelvecchi castle originary of the 13th century (1000 years old).A gorgeous and unique landscape plus history and obviously the production of the top Chianti Classico wine will be part of your fantastic trip here.

What a treat to visit this facility during our hike through the rolling hillsides packed with grapevines. While it was just for a quick taste, I was impressed with the facility, which was preparing for a special event that night. Would love to return for...More

We were staying at a partner hotel who provided free tours for hotel guests. As a free activity, it was just fine. Compared to other winery tours and tastings, it was below average. The property is beautiful, but the guide was not knowledgeable about the...More

Alex, We are very sorry that you did not have a good visit to the cellar. You came from the hotel, so the wine tasting was the basic one. We propose other types of fuller and longer wine tasting but for those you have to...More

Travelled here with my lovely wife on honeymoon. This was only a short break (3 nights) as a getaway - now it is definitely a must to get a car as this place is rather remote 111km from Pisa in central Tiscany. It was described...More

Stopped by while on the way to great restaurant in Lamole. Free tasting of four local chianti classico wines. All really good so we bought a couple of bottles. Professional and kind service.

Stunning location surrounded by vineyards. However difficult to find ( don't rely on your satnav) and 2-3 kms out of Radda. So a bit isolated. Our (superior) room was dismal, limited essentials and the reception we got was somewhat impersonal . Restaurant is only ok...More

This was my favorite 'hotel' during our 2 week trip to Italy this fall. It was like an old farmhouse, but renovated, with each room seeming to be individualized and perfect. The breakfasts were also the best of my two week stay, as was the...More

Castelvecchi is a very small winery that offers free tasting to those who make the drive. During the summary, I believe they are open from 1030-630pm (they close during lunch time). They make the best Chianti Classico that I've ever had and are well worth...More

We stayed four nights, the room had a comfortable bed and the location is very quiet. The garden is also nice and there is a pool there. Needless to say that there are vines all around. Overall a very good choice as a starting point...More
