Fantastic morning spent tracking chimps and then just stopping and spending time watching them in their beautiful forest home. James was my guide and he was very knowledgeable and informative. I was in two minds about doing this activity when planning my itinerary, but I am so glad I decided to do it - it ended up being one of... More

This was a truly unique experience. Sleeping in our own Eco Cabin under mosquito nets, listening to the chimpanzees and other creatures of the forest. You are fully immersed in the forest life. The cabins are comfortable and spacious and have a great ambience. The staff are friendly and helpful. The food was great eating out on the verandah listening... More

We went out with the Chimp trekking team and a great guide called Robert. Julius also joined us who is being trained up. Saw a group of chimps and the alpha male but alongside this incredible fauna and flora and the hush and noises of a triple canopy, deep forest. Great experience.

Budongo Eco lodgets a very nice place to stay in the middle of the forest. Very friendly staff and really delicious food as well! The chimp tracking was one of the best animal encounters in my life! I think there a very good chances to see the chimps in the morning. I went into the forest with a very kind... More

It is just amazing to walk through the forest, and then be amongst a huge family of chimps going about their daily routines, and calling out to each other, walking across the path 10 meters in front of you, caring for babies, grooming.

We were not expecting to see chimpanzees as we 'only' booked a jungle walk. Hearing the chimps our guide however lead us to them and we had an amazing experience. The rest of the jungle walk was equally good as our guide was very knowledgeable and loved to explain about the trees (600 year old mahogany), the birds, the insects... More

We had this trek on 14 August. Although we have spent 2 and half hours at first attempt, then we have moved into different location by jeep, and spent another 2,5 hours - we have failed to spot chimpanzees. One of the reasons may be that we have started quite late - at 1130, and what I have learned from... More

On the last day of the month of June we walked the Budongo Forest Chimpanzee Tracking The tour came to $ 90 per person. The tour begins with an explanation of rules of conduct in the woods and near the chimpanzees. The tour should last up to three hours and once you find chimpanzees can spend with them 60 minutes... Opted to do a whole day of tracking the Chimps and must say that after having tracked the Gorilla's, this is a very different experience... the tracking is hard and fast as the Chimps are constantly on the move... Compared to the Gorilla's, they are extremely loud and noisy and very, very active ... It was great to watch them... More

This was the trip of a lifetime having followed the work of Jane Goodall for many years. Tracking chimps with Sawda was the highlight of my holiday - and the one where I got the worst photos!!!! The chimps were all around us, getting on with their lives and absolutely not going to pose for tourists which made for a... More
