10 OUT OF 10!!!! I celebrated my birthday weekend with my best friend and this one was of the first excursion/activity we booked! From the moment our private driver, Dwayne picked up (he was soo sweet) and my tour guide who rode along with this the whole time, Tamara (the BEST) that taught us more about Jamaica, the beautiful island and what they had to offer… from authentic Jamaican beef patty, peanuts, coconuts, shrimp/crawfish soup etc to when we go to the BRIGHT & BEAUTIFUL distillery. The moment we got there, we were handed their signature cocktails, which tasted amazing, got a full tour of the history of how Jamaica produces their best rum with a decent sized heart. We got to try molasses, moron, sugarcane, and I mentioned… It was mad fun! To end the tour we were serve lunch that included jerk, chicken and jerk pork as well as other side and of course we had to stop at the gift shop to bring more rum home!
If you like rum, want to know more history about Jamaica, and how they even make their ROM, or try to broaden your horizons/experience then no hesitation, book this tour, and get ready for an experience you never tried before, OR GO VISIT AGAIN!

It was really enlightening, loads of fun and shall I say a wealth of new experience. The overall tour was excellent from our welcome to going on the actual tour. Our guide Shamoy made the tour more exciting, with her vibrant and easy going personality. I would say its an easy recommendation to others wanting to go. The ambiance, the food, the people, everything was solid tens.
Glad I had the opportunity to go. Nuff big ups to every staff and management that made the tour a holistic experience.

This experience was really great, we were provided snacks throughout and a meal once we reached the Appleton estate before rum tasting. The only improvement I would say is that we felt a little rushed at YS falls after doing the zipline, we only had 15 mins in the falls

I truly enjoyed the tour. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and polite. Although, I’m not a rum drinker, I learned a lot and would recommend this tour to friends and family members.

Very informative tour starting from how they made the rum many years ago to present day.
When you arrive you’re treated to a cocktail then you watch a 7 minute video in their cinema room.
Then you venture out to the factory and end the tour with the tasting session which is great fun.
There is a restaurant and gift shop too where you can pour your own bottle and they give you a label for you to write your name and date on it.
Definitely a great few hours well spent and special mention to Tiffany our guide.

First impressions were great...handed a huge (and strong) Rum Cocktail as soon as we walked in!
We're taken on a complete tour of tge factory and learned how the rum is produced in the past and also in modern day.
The tasting session was very good, actually went through how to get the best of each sample. Would recommend.

Entry tickets include a rum punch or stormy valley cocktail on arrival - I recommend the stormy valley!
If you arrive as a couple, you may have to wait until a large enough group is ready for the tour to commence - no problem, the cocktails are good and there are a few things to look at in reception.
The tour itself was interesting and informative - there was a section where those with mobility issues would have to miss it as there are a large number of steps, but that was just one small section.
It was fascinating to see and hear about the rum production, which was brought to life by tasting the raw cane and molasses.
In the tasting room at the end, you get a sample of three rums and some spices/chocolate to smell when sipping. It was most enjoyable.
That ends the tour, but there is a cafe near the tasting room where you can get some food - jerk chicken/pork - and drink (they have the 20 year old by the glass which was superb).
After the cafe, there is the shop where you can buy all sorts of Appleton's merchandise or rum including your own bottle which you pour directly from the cask.
All in all, a great tour.

This one of the best things we’ve done while in Jamaica. If ever you have the opportunity, do yourself a favor and go. Even if you’re not particularly fond of rum, the tour is fun and educational. The grounds are absolutely breathtaking. The staff are incredibly kind, and you’ll have a few laughs along the way.

The overall experience was a great one. Our driver Franklin and chaperone Denise (Dee-Nice) ensured that we were properly catered to. They took us on a Our tour guide Tiffany was the "bomb", she answered all our questions and along with the team of presenters at the different stops ensured that we were fully immersed in the process. She also made the Rum tastings an entertaining and educational memory.

Hi, trying to decide what cash to take. Any idea how much bottle of rum are on average in JMD or GBP & do they take credit cards? Thanks in advance.

Hi they do take cards. Depends on blend and size of rum. We paid approximately 19 US DOLLARS for quite a large bottle. Seemed reasonably priced as we bought a few items from the shop.

Can anyone recommend a driver to take a group of up to six from the cruise port in Falmouth to the Appleton Estate? We will be there on December 4.

We will be staying in Negril next month and want to tour your estate. What would be the best way for me to travel there? A taxi, or is there a tour. Do you know if I can combine another tour.
Thank you, Fred

Not sure if there are tours from Negril. Your best bet would be to ask at your hotel or check a local travel agent. You should be able to hire a Juta taxi as they are more reliable. Again check your hotel or a local travel agent and they should be able to help you.

Can children visit the factory?

It’s very educational for attentive kids. They also get a chance to taste the cane juice and pure molasses. They can see how rum is made without tasting it. I took my toddler and the tour guide was kind enough to give her some cane to nibble on. (It was great for her teething!)

Is the tour worth it if I don't drink?

I didn’t drink either and they do a tasting of their different rums and the story behind each one which took the longest , for the price and what you see we all thought it wasn’t worth it !
