The owner of Hotel Fleur des Alpes recommended we walk to Notre Dame des Fontaines and it was a great recommendation. The church is amazing inside and the walk was beautiful.

The Notre Dame de Fontaines is place that needs to be visited! Located close to La Brigue and from the coast of the Meditaranien a sturdy ride but absolute worthwhile. Amazing paintings from the 15th century preserved in an amazing way and still fully original.

Unusual 15th century frescoes of the life of Christ and of the Judgment make this small chapel in the woods a fascinating stop, and a beautiful and calm respite. Books on the art and the the church's history are available. Check hours for visits online...More

Small chapel with nice wall paintings, but not worth 4 euros per person. I would however recommend checking out the lower level spring.

The story about the place is very interesting. The place is mistical, little chapel in the middle of the green at the bottom of a valley. Feels like in the middle age.

Great 6 km hike from La Brigue to this chapel. You need to check with the tourism office in town to get inside in the off season. We were able to join a group at the chapel and listened to the descriptions in French. The...More

We walked to Notre Dame des Fontaines from La Brigue. There is an interesting story about an earthquake and a miracle which caused the people to build the church. It is a fairly simple church without gilt but with the most beautiful, colourful frescoes. I...More
