Puerto Morelos came up on our vacation radar after reading an article from David Greenberg, The Travel Detective and coincidentally a recommendation from a worker at our hotel. This is what I imagined Cancun to be, a quaint town by the beach with restaurants and...More

Great place to swim, snorkel, eat/drink, and hang out by the crystal clear waters. There's many restaurants to choose from that offer beach-side seating.

In the downtown square there is a blue two story building as you approach the beach. They are the best snorkel operation. Most times there are only 4 people on the boat. Feels like your own personal trip, without all the other people most trips...More

This is a good beach. The Ojo de Agua is a spot where fresh water pops up into the ocean and is surrounded by fish that you can see while snorkeling.

We go to Puerto Morelos often and always put up our umbrella on this beach! We love to snorkel and this is the best walk-in snorkeling beach in the town!

Do you have to be staying at the hotel to use this beach? I'll just be coming from Cancun for the day (will come back if i really like it, it does look like a lovely town) so would like to know if there are sun beds and umbrellas available to hire. Thank you.
