Excellent view points for taking photographs of the bridge. Beware when driving the road it can be a bit 'hairy' in places. Especially when someone is coming the other way in their 'Town Tractors'.

Was in California recently and rode down the Pacific Coast Highway from San Francisco to LA. Being from the East coast, we have plenty of shore line, but NOTHING like the West coast! OMG I just adore that rocky coast line, the mountains, the tiny...More

My first stop of the day was at Bixby Creek Bridge, the iconic bridge that spans a major gorge and marks the unofficial entrance into Big Sur. Despite the bridge's inclusion in Big Little Lies, you realize that it would never make any sense for...More

Visited around the sunset, amazing iconic views. Parked at the north end of the bridge. It is bigger and taller than it looks.

We stopped at the bridge before going to Fernwood Campground in Big Sur. The view was amazing! It was very windy so dress warm. Be mindful of the traffic when parking or leaving. Definitely worth pulling over and taking photos!

Thanks to the popular tv series the bridge is having a renewed youth. However, the parking site gives not much more spaces for staying more than 5 mins.

My favorite bridge on the planet. Worth driving over. Worth stopping to view. One of the most scenic structures ever built by man.

Human creation meet nature creation. The result - the perfect harmony. Only when you step out of the car and observe the scenery. You can truly understand the reason why this bridge is so famous, Because it is so unique and stunningly beautiful.

If you’re driving on CA 1, it’s worth a few minutes to stop and admire the bridge. I didn’t see a lot of placards about the history of the bridge and you cannot walk over it. I thought the better view for photos was heading...More

Look at both sides of the bridge. It is a beautiful site. Very busy place for picture taking. Don’t confuse it with another bridge just north of it. Also beautiful.

If that’s the case, avoid route 1 as much as possible. You could even go a bit south of Big Sur and then come north using Route 1. The advantage is the north-bound route 1 is on the side of mountains (as opposed to cliffs... More

Need to approach from the north, but it's not a very long drive from Carmel by the Sea and it's a pretty drive with lots of pull outs
