Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park

A very peaceful place, along the coast, beautiful views, windy , still sauvage, now it has become a place to be seen, a natural setting a pleasure to explore.

One of the most tranquil places I've ever been to. Really easy to get to and worth veering off Hwy 1 as you drive along the coast.

You need a jacket. Even when it is sunny and really great weather a mile away from the ocean as soon as you get close, it is very chilly. The wind mainly was below 50F. Other than that the view are amazing: nice blue pacific ocean and breathtaking landscape.

this is by far one of the most stunning areas to visit. be prepared to be mind blown. It was so serene and i wished we could have stayed several hours. the scenery is so stunning and breath taking. take time out to just reflect and sit and view .

After Point Lobos, this was our next favorite spot to hike and enjoy the views along the coast. Only 10-15 minutes from Carmel Highlands, parking on the right (note that signs are not obvious). Enjoy - and if you enjoy hikes, you will enjoy this one!

We parked on the road by Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park but didn't really go in it. We did walk down to the McWay Falls lookout, though, and felt very lucky to have found it. My photos are from our drive south to north along the Pacific Coast Highway in October. All the regular park entrances were closed due to... More

Stop as often as you can and admire/photograph nature. Wonderful drive (North to South). It is as the travel books say - just amazing. If you are reading these reviews you are thinking of doing Highway 1 - only advice is Do It! Give yourself time!

This beach is beautiful, the rock formations are amazing with the waves crashing, it's a very romantic spot. We had lunch here, but watch out for the seagulls! The sand isn't as purple as some pics show, but there's a tint of purple in the sand when we went.

Not sure there is any road trip quite like this one, at least not in the United States. Even our 3 year old was speechless (most of the ride, anyhow). Not sure I've ever enjoyed the ride to anywhere, I'd make this trip multiple times. I was amazed from Monterey to Cayucos (was dark by the time we arrived) saw... More

Spectacular scenery. Absolutely loved the drive off the coast. They have several pullout to stop for photos.
